Terrible service! The food is okay 6/6/2012

Terrible service! The food is okay (just okay) but it's on my way home from work so it's conveniently located for me. That being said, I will never go back. Called to place a take-out order and phone was put down and never picked back up. Stopped to place order in person and when I told the cashier what happened got excuses and a real snippy attitude. No manager on duty that night so I called to let her know about the issue (figured she can't fix a problem if she doesn't know about it). Manager's customer service skills are equally bad. I will not be spending another dime at this place. more

Worst fast food EVER! 4/4/2012

We ordered a family meal last night for take-out and had the worst dining experience, in terms of taste, EVER! Let me explain: 1) The bar-b-que had no flavor; I think that the sauces were supposed to be what flavor the pork had; 2) the fried chicken was alright, but once I took a bite of an undercooked piece, I completely lost my appetite for more chicken; 3) the ""brunswick stew"" was canned vegetables with a piece of meat briefly swiped through (you really need to learn what this is!); 4) the green bean casserole was tasteless, with hardly any onions in it; 5) the tea was good! We had plenty of leftovers for another night's meal but we threw them all away...don't want to eat bad food twice. more

My favorite BBQ place 2/18/2012

Three years in Texas hooked me on Texas-style barbecued beef, but when I first moved to Cary I just couldn't find it. That's not a problem, now, thanks to Dixie Belle's! I recommend the beef brisket. In Texas, I'd rate it a solid B+, because it's not quite as good as County Line, in Austin. But there's nothing as good as Dixie Belle's in NC that I've found. more

Surprisingly Good! 1/11/2009

I honestly didn't have very high hopes because this place looked so small - but it was REALLY good! I loved the pulled pork and the sweet potato fries. I think I will be stopping here more often!! Pros: Great barbecue, fast service, friendly staff Cons: A wee bit pricey for bbq more

Northerners Do BBQ? 6/4/2006

The owner of Dixie Belle's may be a Northerner but he knows his BBQ. I personally love the pulled pork and agree with Greg Cox about the brisket. ""Best Brisket this side of Texas"" should be changed to ""Best Restaurant this side of Texas"" Pros: Best Service!!!, Good Food more

Great BBQ in Apex 9/22/2005

I lived in Apex for awhile before I discovered this place and I am so glad I did! Great food and I found the portions to be generous. Staff is always polite and friendly and the dessert specials are great. Convenient location on Highway 64 in Apex, they also have a drive-thru and offer catering for events. more

Hickory Smoked BBQ: This NC Native gives it a 10 9/19/2005

If you like BBQ, you MUST try this place. Dixie Belle's BBQ has the best smoked, pulled BBQ in the Triangle. It is not too salty or too greasy. It is lean and has a light vinegar base. You add more sauce at the table as they have several different types of BBQ sauces, vinegars, et cetera. I am very picky about BBQ. The only other Triangle place where I'll eat BBQ is Don Murray's in Raleigh. They are both good, but Dixie Belle's is hickory smoked. Dixie Belle's is your typical NC BBQ place, complete with sweet tea, banana puddin', fresh cobbler, and the red checkered tablecloths. It is very clean, and their customer service is exceptional. I ordered a Large BBQ plate and had plenty of BBQ-- enough for lunch the next day. Their collards were good too! Pros: Great BBQ, Great CustomerService, Very Clean more

Not Too Shabby! 3/19/2005

I would venture to say that my husband and I are somewhat bbq experts when it comes to HONEST-TO-GOODNESS southern barbecue and Dixie Belle's hit our Top 10 list. But even though the bbq and the service was good, the barbecue portions were not. ""Ya need to spoon a bit more meat on that there plate Sonny."" I believe I only had four folk fulls underneath all them french fries. Anyway, I would heartily recommend the flavor, the service, the ""amicable"" bus boy and Dixie Belle's. Pros: succulent bbq, cushioned tabletops, fast service Cons: small portions more
