Disiac Lounge

Inside is a tiny bar with space for maybe 20... though you'll probably find a lot more than that. Outside, in back, is a nice patio with chairs for 50 or more. Yes, it's hot (temperature) out there, but it's also comfortable, friendly and really makes the bar. The only problem: the PATIO closes at ten. (I guess the neighbors complained.) At that time everyone is herded inside... and it hurts! more

I celebrated my bday here. It was so amazing that my friend decided to have her bday here too! The staff is awesome; they'll do anything to make you happy. The drinks are terrific and the food is incredible. I also love it in the summertime when the patio is open. This is my favorite NYC spot. Pros: The staff is amazing Cons: There are none more

I was introduced to Disiac as it opened six years ago and since then it has been one of my favorite nyc places. It is the first place that come to mind when I want a great drink (my favorite is their Sangria and mohito) and a relaxed atmosphere. Did I go on vacation for a few hours....what a cool place.. I found Disiac on Citysearch and brought a few friends last weekend. We danced the entire night... sure the patio closes pretty early, but the music was great. The drinks were outrageous, so tasty. Nothing was too expensive, but definetly a fun place to go. I saw a lot of really cute couples here... totally a romantic setting as well. Pros: amazing atmosphere and service! more

As you walk through the stainless steel doors you are welcomed by the bartenders, who are aware of everyone in the joint. They are very friendly and accomodating. They also have a really cool outdoor patio that makes you feel like you have left New York for the Bahamas, with the colors that have been painted on the floor and walls. I met the owner and she is one of the nicest people you could want to meet. So much so that I booked my birthday party here. The drinks are so diverse and tasty and the food fresh and flavorful. You can really just sit back, have fun, and they take care of all your needs without having to really ask. Take a date, take a business partner, take a friend...you are in for something really special at Disiac. Disiac should literally be called 'The Hallway"" because that is what it is a hallway. There is no space to be even considered a lounge. My friends and I walked in, stayed for a few minutes and left. I find it fascinating that it received such high review marks. Based on the reviews, I thought it would be a great spot to hangout with a group, but I was highly disappointed. On top of the cramp space, I did not find the hostess to be pleasant at all. I expected just a little bit more from a ""lounge"". more

Held a birthday party for 20 here and it was great! The owner personally took care of us and is a real sweetheart. Price was very fair for lots of very fresh finger food and excellent service. Everyone really enjoyed the beautiful outside patio. The sangria is excellent! more

Get this: I was recommended this place by a bearded stranger, on the sidewalk, outside of a basement speakesy, at 530 in the afternoon. What should I have expected?? Well a lot more apparently - a great outdoor space, packed w/ comfortable antique furniture, tons of cushions, relaxed atmosphere and an extensive mixed/exotic drink menu. And if you prefer trendy try the very modern flush red designed bar area inside. Talk about forgetting you're in Hell's Kitchen, ahem, I mean Clinton. more

The drinks are excellent- the ambiance is lovely... comfortable... and the bar is never that crowded. However, if this bar was a person, it would have a snooty, bad attitude. From the minute I got there, I had this confused feeling to the effect of ""why don't they want to serve me a drink?"" ""why is no one friendly?"" ""why is the only bartender more interested in taking his time talking on his cell phone than doing his job"". Bizarre. I actually went to a private party there and this is quite a find! Pretty outdoor patio for warm weather, great drinks, nice atmosphere. Food really good. Ower couldn't be nicer. Wonderful spot to come after work and unwind, especially in warm weather. Happy hour sounds like a great deal! more

I discovered this hip lounge while taking a walk with this sexy babe from work. We stopped in had some modestly priced cocktails in their outdoor garden. Great scenery, quiet enough, but not so quiet you would have to keep it low. Perfect for a drink and a bite with friends from work or a nice night with a date. Reccomended. Holler.
