Patients Beware before seeing Dr. Ding! 7/1/2009

Do not see this doctor!! From the reviews from the various websites, this doctor has the reputation of recommending unnecessary surgeries. Furthermore, his office manner is less than desirable. I was told that if I did not have surgery on my knee, I would need a knee replacement. With a faint meniscus tear that can be barely seen in an MRI film, other doctors all recommended a more conservative approach than any surgery on the tear (which cannot even be confirmed). Surgery would only irritate the cartilage and can cause future arthritic changes by removal of the cartilage in a meniscus surgery. This doctor did not explain this and was intimidating, if I did not have the surgery. In less than 2 minutes this doctor made a decision that surgery was the answer. When questioned, I was only warned that if I do not have it done I would eventually have to replace my knee. Do not listen to him!! I felt much better and gone through much recovery without using his advice. I can get better advice on the internet and I think a child would be better in making medical decisions than this doctor. One should check to see if he has any complaints with the medical board.. Cons: poor judge on medical issues more

What ever happened to the Hippocratic Oath? 6/15/2009

My 1 year old was diagnosed with trigger finger, and this guy only pushed hard for surgery. Why? I would imagine to line his own pockets. \r \r During the ""consultation,"" he sat across the room staring down at his notes probably doodling and never bothering to look at me or my child. Unsatisfied with his bare bones explanation of the surgical procedure, I went home to do some research on the internet. I was shocked to learn that most doctors do not advise surgery on children less than 2 years old. \r \r The next day, I called Ding to ask for a prescription for anti-inflammatory ointment and a splint so that I could try the conservative approach at least until my child reached the age of 2. He refused to cooperate and reminded me of the consequences of postponing surgery, so I went to another doctor for a second opinion. As you might have guessed, the other doctor was also shocked by Ding's position. \r \r My child has since recovered from the condition with stretching and splinting. Cons: untrustworthy more
