Had a horrific experience. Everyone is very helpful until they make the sell, but after that, forget about it. We purchased an elliptical 1-18-12 and were told we would receive a call in 24-48 at the longest from the delivery company to set up the delivery time. Four days goes by and nothing. I called the number to the delivery company that was on my work order and was told that they did not receive the work order until the 21st. They said it would be a few more days before a technician would contact us to set up the time. I had already told everyone that I needed the machine by Friday 1-27-11 at the latest because after that I was starting a new job and would not be available. I called Dicks to find out why they told me up to 48 hours but didn't send in the order for four days. When you call Dicks you get passed to several different people who say they are the manager on duty. You will tell your story over and over again to each person, because no one knows what the other is doing. Finally I was told that the person who assisted me did not compete the transaction and that's why it wasn't sent in for four days. I said that was no my problem and because of his mistake it was now causing this process to take way longer to get my machine than I was told. After speaking with a couple other ""managers"" I was told they would try to contact the delivery people but really couldn't do much because they are a third party. I said I didn't care, Dicks made the mistake and needed to fix it. I was called back and told that I would be recieving a phone call from the delivery people by end of day Monday, jan 23rd. That call never came. Tuesday I call Dicks again speak with a number of different people, again, retelling my situation. Finally do to my own perseverance and my constant nagging to the delivery company they said they had a ""cancellation"" and delivered it on. the 24th. I was very happy to have my machine but was busy with doctors appts etc...it wasn't until my husband got home that we realized they delivered the wrong machine! We immediately called Dicks. Spoke to another ""manager"" We asked for the GM but was told he wasn't there. This particular manager left a msg for the other manager that would be int he next morning. He never called. So my husband called him. We spent any entire day going back and forth. He even said to me ""it's not like you don't have a machine to work out on!"" I said that's not the machine I paid for and I don't like it. Finally we receive a call from the delivery company who says that it will be days before we can have someone call us to set up a time to come and remove the wrong machine and deliver the correct one, because it now must be approved by corporate. Are you kidding me???!!!!! Bottom line, today is 1-27-11 . I still have the wrong machine. No one at Dicks can help me. I am not allowed to speak to the General manager. He is never there and even one time when he was the employee begged us to let him make this right for us without talking to the GM . We agreed, but he never called back and when we called Dicks again this morning he wasn't there and neither was the GM and the other ""manager"" now on duty has no idea what is going on. I have now contacted corporate. Please don't make the same mistake we did. Purchase somewhere else. It will save you a lot of trouble.
