The food was very bland, no real unique taste. The place is very nice, service was Ok, but we felt as if we were eating a dietary meal. The waitress gave us two 20 dollar off of 50 cards to use on our next visit, that was nice, might give it a second shot. more

Fabulous food matched with outstanding service! 11/3/2009

Hubby and I went here for our wedding anniversary and were seated next to the window to enjoy the view. The waitress was very attentive and punctual. We ordered the petite filet in butter sauce and it was one of the best we've had. For appetizers we ordered the prosciutto wrapped scallops and spicy seafood gumbo - simply OUTSTANDING. There is also an ample wine list to pair with the dishes and the waitress' wine recommendations were perfect. After dinner, we chatted with the waitress for a good 20 minutes and genuinely enjoyed our first experience at Devon. We will be returning;-) Pros: Delicious food, romantic, chic, great service more

Nostalgia 5/7/2009

Love this place! Great service, smiles and personality. The happy hour is fantastic, try the lobster tail and shrimp scampi. Not sure what all the fuss is about with Parc but I am truly a devoted Devon fan and look forward to sitting and sipping real soon. Pros: Food, service and outdoor seating. Cons: Minimal on street parking. more

Great food--Great service 3/1/2009

We have had some great dinners with friends and clients and always come up big with both the food and the service . Devons has a great staff who make you feel like you are having a personal dining experience every time. Pros: Ambiance more

Outstanding!! 2/21/2009

I don't usually write reviews but after dining here last night I felt compelled to tell everyone how amazing everything was. I actually ordered the filet mignon and it was honestly the BEST piece of meat I have ever eaten. Great wine list, reasonable pricing, you really can't beat it! Even though its a seafood restaurant I highly recommend the filet, the crab cakes were good too! more

Great Food, Great Service 10/16/2008

I came here with my boyfriend and my parents last week and was very impressed. Our waiter was one of the most professional I have seen and was very attentive. Our food and beverages came out at a good pace, not rushed, but not slow. The crabcake appetizer was excellent and my swordfish was really well prepared. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meals and I definitely plan to go back. Pros: Service, Crabcakes more

Just okay, if that. 10/13/2008

I went to Devon after having received a gift card in the mail, and went with a group of 6. We were seated in a dark corner, which was fine, and were promptly greeted. The timing of the meal was good, we didn't feel rushed, aside from the fact that our server talked a mile a minute. Three of the fish entrees were overdone, which was appalling to me, considering Devon is supposed to be a seafood restaurant - chefs should know how to cook sushi-grade tuna. Our server recommended an entree they were out of. Overall, unimpressed. Pros: can accommodate large groups Cons: the food... more

Poor experience 9/18/2008

I am a seafood lover and was totally excited to try this place after reading the good reviews. I went with a group of 4 and the overall sentiment after our meal was... ""that was just okay."" No ""WOW"" factor. I think they need to shake things up on the menu and with their chef. I was very disappointed with my tuna... I was expecting a good portion of a great piece of fish and since the asparagus was a regular choice for a side I expected them to be large just-from-the-farmers-market-fresh produce. Instead what came was an okay piece of fish cooked medium well even though I ordered it rare and the sadest looking asaparagus I have ever seen- also WAY overcooked. It seems to me that when you specialize in seafood, and keep the menu simple, you better be able to deliver. This place did not impress. Spend your money somewhere else. Pros: on the park Cons: everything associated with the food more

We Shall Return!!!! 3/11/2008

First off, we were seated very promptly. By ""We"", I mean there was a group of 5 of us that was celebrating my girlfriend's birthday. The atmosphere was considerably spirited and buzzing on a Saturday night, as expected, and it was welcoming to both groups and romantic parties. The cocktail and wine menus were robust and very tantilizing. I do not have enough room to elaborate on each entree dish that was ordered, so I shall talk about the two that my girlfriend and I ordered. But, rest assured that each dish was exquisitely prepared and scrumptious all the same. To start, we ordered the JUMBO LUMP CRAB CAKES appetizer and it was definitely a melt in your mouth experience. The crab meat was fresh and melted-butter soft & tender. The sauces that came with it were very complementary and gave the dish a swicy (i.e. sweet and spicy) richer flavor. My lady ordered the chilean seabass with mashed potatoes, which she cannot stop talking about. I ordered one of the seasonal preparations of mahi mahi and yes, it was AMAZING!!! from the elegant presentation and fresh preparation to the sophisticated flavors that test each of your taste bud zones. Pros: Service, Food, Dynamic Atmosphere (for groups and romantic dining) more

One of the best seafood places in Center City Philadelphia 3/6/2008

I went to this restaurant with a group of people from work. The service was great and so was the food. The crab cakes are not made with imitation crab meat. You can actually taste the freshness of real crab meat as it hits your tongue. I tried lobster bisque for the first time and it was delicious. It has a very smooth taste to it, with a touch of spice, but not too much to the point where you'll experience heart burn. Pros: Great seafood and excellent service. Cons: If you drive, you will have to pay for parking in a lot or find street parking. more

Great Seafood/Service 2/20/2008

I've been to this establishment several times and each time the food and the service have been great. I especially recommend the Seafood Medley for those seafood lovers out there. The Center City location and the relatively reasonable prices make this a great place. The bar scene can be a little loud. more

Great Seafood, Great Service 2/20/2008

My family and I had dinner here last week, and it was absolutely great. The food (I had Grouper, wife had Chilean Sea Bass) was fresh, and prepared so that you actually tasted the fish, as it was not smothered in some type of sauce etc. - awesome. The menu also had many choices of fresh fish, but also had items for the land lover too. The service was great too, we had Emily- she was great on answering our questions and very friendly-great service. Also when you order wine by the glass, they bring the bottle that you picked out to your table and pour it directly from the bottle---I thought that was a great touch!! We eat out alot, and I cant tell you how many times a restaurant will just bring you the glass already poured--and your trying to figure out if it was the right wine etc... We will be back everytime we're in the philly area. Highly recommended. more

Great Service, Nice Atmosphere 12/31/2007

Although it was VERY loud I thought the atmosphere was nice. The food was excellent. (I recommend the lobster bisque) Service was fast. I went there with one other person and we were in and out in a little over an hour. For 2 drinks, a filet dinner, the seafood medley and two soups it ran just under $100. I will definitely be returning! (My boyfriend found the chairs to be pretty uncomfortable b/c he has bad knees and the chairs sat kind of low. I thought the booth seat was comfortable though) Pros: Great steak and seafood! Making a reservation got us seated IMMEDIATELY! Cons: Very loud. more

Isn't it romantic... 8/28/2007

My boyfriend and I were visiting Philly for the first time, wandering around aimlessly looking for someplace nice and romantic to eat, and this place was literally recommended to us by a stranger on the street! We went in with no reservations around 6pm and were seated right away, right in front of the open French doors overlooking a beautiful park. The food was great--I especially recommend the proscutto crusted scallops for an appetizer. Oh! And the garlic mashed potatoes were awesome as well. The service was lovely. She was attentive but not overbearing (a huge pet peeve of mine). The place looked beautiful, and the portions were perfect. We left full and happy. :) Pros: Food, ambiance, service, all lovely. Cons: There was some scaffolding outside the building which marred the otherwise perfectly lovely view of the park. (Through no fault of the restaurant's, obviously.) more

Crabcakes 6/10/2007

I went for lunch with a group of my co-workers. It was a very loud restaurant, and we could hardly hear our waitress. For apps - tuna tartare and calimari. Both were good and were good portions for four of us to share amongst ourselves. The crabcake meal comes with two medium-sized crabcakes that are all crab and almost no cake. We did make reservations for lunch. more
