One of the best breakfast spots in Denver amidst the shady, sleepy Gaylord shops. Try the salmon benedict served on Challah - it is incredible. The staff are friendly and they o...

A friend and I dropped by for brunch one day on a whim. It seemed a cute spot in a neat neighborhood. Things started off well enough, our waitress was polite and we ordered. Ab...

A Unique Restaurant with a Devilish Theme 2/28/2006

Although I’ve only been to Devil’s Food for breakfast and brunch on the weekends, they’re more than just a breakfast food restaurant. “Bakery” is actually in their name, but they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as teatime. They’re open early every day (except Monday, their day off); during the week and on Sundays they close in the afternoon, but on Friday and Saturday nights they stay open until midnight. Aside from the fantastic hours, the food is unbelievably good: the excellent recipes are prepared using all-natural foods, and the coffee they serve is from a top-notch local company. The “devil” theme keeps things interesting, too: the walls of the ladies’ restroom are painted with a mural of Adam and Eve, and the walls of the men’s restroom feature a mural of Robert Johnson selling his soul to the devil. more

Sinful Pastries! 9/12/2005

Throw the diet to the wayside and indulge in a rich pastry from Devil's Food. Gerald, the pastry chef creates incredible sweets that are well-worth the calories. The fruit pastries are almost too pretty to eat! You also have to try to breakfast lovin' cake- it is great with a latte or a hot cup of tea. Eat in or take it on the run. A word to the wise...DO NOT take your cell phone in the restaurant. There is a very strict no cell phone policy in the place. I have seen people kicked out for answering their phones!!! more

The Devil's Delight 8/16/2005

If you're looking for the perfect neighborhood cafe, look no further. The Devil's Food tempts you from the first step in the door as you walk past the picture perfect pastries and chocolate delicacies. Much to my surprise, the cafe is much more than a simple coffee and sweets place. It serves a full breakfast with delicious and innovative creations, like the stuffed challah french toast filled with sweetened granny smith apples, cinnamon and creme fraiche. For the egg lovers, the restaurant offers a lovely selection of omelets, eggs benedict and other breakfast staples. Add in eye-opening coffee, large fresh-squeezed orange juice and a comfortable, eclectic atmosphere, and you come up with a great way to spend those leisurely Sunday mornings. If breakfast doesn't whet your appetite, try Devil's Food for lunch, dinner or even high tea (but tea by appointment only). more
