I know what you're probably thinking. This guy has gone off the deep end. I only ask that you hear me out.
This AM, I went to the DMV armed with laptop and newspaper to pass the interminable time I would spend waiting to get my WA license. Having recently relocated to WA from IL, my expectation was set by what I had experienced at the DMV in Chicago which was a combination of early 20th century Ellis Island and the Wrigley Box Office the day Cubs season tickets go on sale. In other words, I figured I was in for a long, crowded, and perplexing wait.
Instead what happened was I walked in to the Greenwood Department of Motor Vehicles at 8:45AM and waited not a second. What's more, the woman that helped me was really pleasant and helpful. 5 minutes later, I had my temporary license (the real one gets mailed in 5 days) in hand and I was on my way to work.
This ain't your father's DMV...
