The long term cost of Dell printers, faxes, etc. is greater that any other brand or company due to the extremely high cost of their inks per usage plus the low life expectancy of the equipment. In addition they waste incredible amounts of your time with incompetent ""customer service"" agents who barely speak English and can not communicate with someone from the US (I believe their are NO service agents in the USA). In addition they run you in circles for hours and it can take as in our case a month to get a part. Pros: Cheap initial cost? Cons: Most expensive in long run; basically no ""customer service"" more

Ignorant, uncouth and LIARS 2/2/2009

We bought this Dell Latitude D600 from a flea market late last year, soon after we got a message stating the Windows program was counterfeit. We immediately phoned Dell to find out was it true, before they would even speak to us we needed to register this under my husband's name, which we did, and they in turn will send us a new CD. They didn't do this. Not 1 Dell customer service agents tell us to go to a website and do this ourselves and if we had any problems to call and they would help. After not receiving the replacement, we called them again to find out that the agent didn't register the laptop and so we registered it with another agent who told us it will take 5-10 days for it to go through and the CD will be sent once this happens. To make this short, we got tired of waiting and called them to see what Windows CD we needed, they told us Vista was compatible with this laptop. When it didn't install properly, we called again and were told to go out and buy a 2 Gigabyte memory chip and back up the programs we wanted and Vista would do the rest. Then it wouldn't even turn on!! Over the Christmas Holiday, due to the B.S. Dell told us to buy ( we had to go out and buy the XP Home) and then taking this in to the "" Geek Squad "" who told us that the hard drives were not installed & they downloaded this for us. We spent over $600 in 1 day because they kept giving us wrong information. We spent over 32 hrs on the phone with them to figure out why the laptop was not working, now our cellphone bill is over $1,400 ( we went way over on our minutes). They screwed us so damned bad, the money we set aside for my meds was used because Dell said we needed to go out and buy this that and the other, all of it was unnecessary. Now, they're saying that this is registered under our name, but it is also still in the original owners name and we are having even more problems than before with this laptop. They didn't tell us that we can register this online, only for us to keep calling Pros: NOTHING Cons: They're money hungry. They'll lie to you. The language barrier is horrific and They treat you as a joke. more


Never buy from DELL Computer! Unless you want to be committed to DELL HELL, suffering repeated NON resolution, repeated disconnects, being subjected to many untruths and misinformation. Their ""CUSTOMER CARE"" supervisors claim they can't even send an email or letter when you try to get in print some agreed upon detail of service requested. Clearly they fail to comphrehend that they are in the PEOPLE BUSINESS, as computers don't make buying decisions. Michael DELL and associates have insulated themselves from their customers in their Ivory Tower in Round Rock, unwilling to talk with their customers. If you don't value your time or life, DELL can waste lots f it for you. I just waited on hold again for 45 minutes trying to get to a CUSTOMER CARE manager, who confirmed they can not email or write to a customer. He then offered to have DELL CORP call me within 24 hours. The third time I've been told they would call in teh past 2 weeks. NEVER TRUST DELL COMPUTER CO. Pros: cOMPUTERS ASSEMBLED IN USA Cons: HORRIBLE, UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER ABUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more
