Diagnosis not right always/Not flexible/Billing Questionable 6/6/2011

We have been going there for almost 6 years when it was a smaller practice. Even though I moved from Sugar land I continued going to Sugar Land/Riuchmond offices because I liked Dr. Knobel. Now 2 kids and several visits later, going there seems like they are become too big/too commercial to care enough. I am switching to another practice locally - who gave me excellent service last week..\r \r Dr. Knobel is nice but to get a urgent appointment or a chance to talk to here is never an option. Very busy office. \r Dr. Smith - cannot diagnose. Took my child for a cough and it sounded like wheezing and NOT croup..I have had my kids get croup in the past and I know how it sounds.- she called it croup - gave him steroids. It wasn't croup - a few days later took him for same issue to Dr., Knobel and it was not Croup..\r Another time when Dr. Knobel was out - my 2 yr old was tugging his ear - Smith said nothing...viral... the tugging didnt go.\r in a week it was time for well child. Took to Knobel - on checking his ears as part of well child - she saw a ear infection...\r \r Well I discovered that the doctors office has billed my insurance company twice for the same day - One visit as a well child and one visit for sick. I am not really very sure if this is how it should w\r \r Called them and they said it was a well child and since he happened to have a ear infection it is a sick visit as well.. and they clubbed the visit to make it convenient for me. .>Really??\r I think this is double dipping... WOW..Billing department was not friendly and had an attitude. more

The Good and the Bad 5/3/2009

I am a mother of three, one 4,3,and2. We have been with the Pediatric Center for almost five years and have seen all of the doctors and been at both offices. The Sugarland office is dirty and all staff is rude even to my children! The Richmond office is much cleaner. After having seen all of the doctors I can say that Dr. Raju is the best at taking care of sick children! Dr. Knoble is great with Athsma but not anything else. Dr. Bornstein is in a constant hurry but great with the kids. Dr. Smith is the nice one and is easy to talk to but is not good with diagnosing any sickness other than saying it is viral. Dr. Patel was o.k. but didn't bother to look at my kids medical records or ask before writing perc. to get us out the door.Don't bother talking to any nurse they are rude and just don't care!!! Pros: Pharmacy in the building, Being seen the same day. Cons: Long waits, rude nurses, doctors not taking the time to think more

stay away from Bornstein Pediatrics 12/22/2008

After waiting an hour in the waiting area (that is supposed to be for well children, but there were numerous coughing and sneezing children around), I was told the follow up flu shot should have been scheduled for a later date. So not only did they wrongly schedule me a month ago to have this shot, they had me wait an hour to tell me that I would have to come back. I got NO apology, no nothing. When I comment that I need to consider another doctor, they were just fine with me leaving. They do not value their patients at all, even when there is dollar sign attached to each one of them. Children are made to wait for hours and herded around like cattle. One time, another child of mine received a shot that was not necessary and not covered by my insurance was given to my son. Then later I received an outrageous bill to pay for this shot my insurance did not cover. They constantly finding ways to get more money out of parents. STAY AWAY!!! THIS IS THE WORST PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CHILD!!! I am writing this after I have given them many chances and I wish I would have switch doctors a long time ago. TRUST ME< DON""T TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THIS OFFICE! You will regret it. Cons: rude staff more

A stroke of amazing luck 12/19/2008

Believe it or not, this is an extremely clean and well run clinic. I chose them via a Medicaid plan as my son's PCP, and I have yet to be disappointed by their service in both the doctors and the MA's. Everyone there is very polite and very gentle with my at times rather difficult son, and the doctors there (I have met three) have all been very thorough in his well check ups. I am very pleased with this center and recommend it to anyone. They have their own pharmacy in the clinic, and the wait time is very reasonable. The only drawback is that there is a play area only on the ""Sick side."" But that is hardly a complaint . Pros: Excellent staff, Friendly doctors, large waiting room Cons: Play area only on sick side, Wait time in the exam room a little longer more
