Editorial review from Citysearch 3/27/2013

If you want a pool that has been designed for looks rather than function, that is built with equipment that does not work with the pool design, and that will require replacement of multiple major systems within 3 years of building the pool, choose Da Vida.\r \r Equally, if you want to work with a company who refuses, despite repeated calm professional attempts to talk about your concerns, if you want to witness the Principals aggressively (rudely) arguing about design vs functional elements of your pool, choose Da Vida.\r \r Our pool cost at least a third again over what we originally paid Davida to build the pool in the first place. We had to systematically replace virtually everything in the first two years of the pool's life. We have come to accept that the pool 's annual maintenance is far more costly than it needed to be, purely because of its multiple and fundamental design flaws. \r \r Don't be fooled by their rationalizations and explanations. \r \r We do not recommend Da Vida in any thing to do w pool design or building. \r more

Great Pool Builders and Excellent Customer Service 9/10/2009

We had our pool built by DaVida pools in 2007 and our experience has been excellent. The design was beautiful and definitely the highlight of our backyard. Lisa and Andre provided us with the ultimate family experience and I thank them for the wonderful spring and summers our family has enjoyed in our negative edge swimming pool. What we have appreciated most is their sincere follow-up to manufacturer issues. They stay with the issue until it is resolved and there are very few pool builders with their dedication and loyalty to their customers. In fact, we have done some additions to our pool with DaVida and the finished product looks remarkable. Most important, both Lisa and Andre are wonderful individuals with the highest level of integrity and professionalism. They really care and take tremendous pride in their work. There is great reasons why they continue to win award after award and are considered the premier pool builders in all of central Texas. Pros: Great Design, Sincere Owners, Excellent Follow-up, more

Absolutely horrendous 9/7/2009

Andre and Lisa have absolutely no respect for the people they take money from. They refused to step up and take care of warranty issues and claimed they were manufacturing issues. I didnt hire the manufacturers and after 2 years of trying to get them to fix things, I had to call another company to finish their work. I have heard this from so many people who have pools built by them. I have yet to find one happy owner Pros: nice design Cons: totally lacking respect more

Improving their service... 5/8/2009

We have owned our new home for a little over a year; and from about month #3 we have had issues with the Davida Pool and hot tub. To this date, one year and three months later, the issue is still not fixed. I have called their numbers, left messages; the owner came out and looked at the problem in December 08; acknowledged there was a problem with the plumbing that THEY did and that they needed to ""do reseach and get back to you"". I have called back again numberous times, and still not a single phone call back. \r \r Addendum...\r It is now September 1 2009, and have to say that over the summer, (june/July) Lisa contacted me (I had asked Hayward rep for help with the problems) saying she did not realize that there had been a problem, and then made every effort to fix the problem with the jets that were not working properly. (Hopefully the hot tub emptying when the freeze protector comes on does not occur again this winter) She even had a cosmetic issue taken care of... which I did not ask her to do. So, in all fairness, because Lisa asked me to retract the above, I am writing this addendum. She builds beautiful pools... and is working to brush up the customer service side of the house! Lisa, if you read this, thank you for taking care of the problems; and you did a great job with the cosmetic issue!\r Pros: Improving service! more

So far, the other review does not match my experience 11/2/2008

We are currently having our pool built by Da Vida Pools. I will say that we researched extensively, did our homework, and talked to MANY other builders before moving forward with Da Vida. We are about half way through our project and the level of professionalism and communication has been excellent. I have personally seen a lot of their finished projects and talked to several of the home owners and everything I've seen and heard is positive. The quality of their work is second to none. I've watched the crews and their attention to detail is impeccable. While we're not swimming just yet, I have no reason to believe the rest of our project will not continue to run smoothly. I would hate to see the reputation of a great pool design/build company be compromised by one bad experience and find it even harder to believe that the issues mentioned in the other review haven't been addressed. I would expect there are a few more sides to that story. Pros: Great designs, quality work and very involved througout the process more

worst remodel experience EVER! 8/24/2008

We met the owners of this company at the Austin Home Show, and really liked the examples of their work... very creative, unique installations, etc... so we signed on to have them remodel our pool which was in pretty rough shape when we bought our home. Everything started great, and they gave us some great ideas for features, many of which we went with... but it went downhill rapidly! The concrete was a disaster... had to be torn up and redone TWICE, and is already cracking! The wall added to provide privacy and architectural interest was not remotely straight, TWICE! Tile is falling off after only a few years and we've already had to replace parts of our pumps and chlorine systems. \r \r After the concrete issues, we were put on the low end of the priority list apparently... work stopped, scheduled meetings were ignored, what was supposed to be a 3 month task stretched into 6 months of taking time off work to meet with the company, only to have them not show AND not return calls. When the concrete was chiseled up the final time, we suggested they put the pool light in before it was re-poured, but were ignored... only to have the light not work, requiring a section of the deck to be cut out to enable repair. Now there's an UGLY patch job instead of a smooth deck.\r \r Finally, to add insult to injury, after leaving the job unfinished and the site a mess, they called to tell us THEY WERE TAKING US TO COLLECTIONS!!!\r \r If you have money to waste, and don't care about quality work, by all means go with Da Vida... otherwise, stay clear... Pros: great design ideas Cons: high priced, low quality, BAD customer service, questionable hiring practices more
