Have your next party at Cupcake Royale! 6/15/2010

I am one of the few people on earth, who don't like cupcakes. So the only reason I went to Cupcake Royale, was that I was invited to a private party that was being hosted there. And oh my gosh was it fun! I got to make loads of personalized cupcakes and they were so cute the ones I made! I posted my photos and of course my friends were insanely jelous that I was out at this really cool cupcake making party. I made a few cupcakes for my co-workers to take to work the next day, and they thought that was so unique! The place is large and spacious. Good for a group of 15 or for an individual to go alone. The staff was so much fun. And you can even buy cool shirts that say "Legalize Frostitution". Now how cool would that shirt be? Bet your boss would love that! I have really come to like their carrot cake cupcakes and also the salty carmel frosting. Yum! They also have a neat rollergirl cupcake cut-out that you can stick your head in and take lots of funky photos. So have your next party here, cause it is so unique and fun! Pros: large and spacious, great staff, fun Cons: not sure more

Sprinkled with goodness 6/9/2010

If you are looking to get an instant sugar rush, a great big, creamy-frosting topped cupcake is definitely a fun way to go, and Cupcake Royale should be at the top of your go-to list! With four stores throughout the city, each cafe is unique to the vibe and feel of the neighborhood. Step inside the Capital Hill Cupcake Royale, and you will quickly realize that it is not like any of the other locations. The space is a lesson in juxtaposition; the industrial feel of the exposed ductwork and edgy art installations contrast with the Neapolitan color scheme; brown, pink and white. All of the seating and tables are painted one of their three signature colors, reminiscent of a classic chocolate cupcake with white frosting and pink sprinkles. Behold The Kate cupcake! The menu choices consist of white or chocolate cake with various icing flavors. In addition, there are three specialty cupcakes: Carrot Cake, Red Velvet, and the heavenly Salted Caramel. A special cupcake of the month rounds out the options. While the menu may be simple, there is nothing simple about these morsels of sugary sweetness. With fun names like Royale with Cheese, Orange You Glad, and Peppermint Party, coupled with the recently retooled recipe to make them “more moisty-er,” these personal cakes of goodness are sure to make you smile. Join them for one of their Sprinkle Parties for even more cupcake fun. Frost and decorate your own cuppie with a full bar of sprinkles and toppings. Bring your friends and a bottle of wine, and the staff will make sure it’s a smashing good time. Also a great children’s party idea, though minus the wine of course. It’s not all fluff and butter cream here though; these are cupcakes with a conscience. Cupcake Royale is a strong activist in social justice and focuses efforts on sprinkling goodness throughout the community. Using local, sustainable ingredients, composting/recycling, and making donations to non-profits are just a few of the ways they give back to the city that loves them so! Pros: moist cupcakes, fun flavors, hip decor Cons: parking more

I betchya wish your girlfriend had Cupcakes like these! 6/9/2010

This Cupcake Royale location is perfect to get your sugar high on before going out and getting your drink, dance or comedy on! Fresh vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, and carrot cupcakes available daily with real butter cream frosting on most and cream cheese frosting (my personal favorite) on the carrot, red velvet, and classic chocolate. Try their flavor of the month as a special treat, but don't get addicted, their offered for a limited time only. My favorite was last July, Skagit Valley Strawberry on vanilla cake. Oh. My. Gawd. Drool. Is it July yet? The coffee and baristas here are very good, enjoy the cream/foam art they make in your cup! So pretty, almost a shame do drink it. Take a picture, it lasts longer and enjoy the warm cozy feeling of a coffee kick. Pros: Lots of fun flavors to choose from, fancy latte art! Cons: They aren't open all night, and Happy Hour starts very late more

Cupcakes by design 6/8/2010

Focusing on serving cupcakes to the "Four Corners" of Seattle, Cupcake Royale is hard at work shoving their name and cupcakes down the throats of men, women and children with sugary appetites and flavor-design dreams. Each location; Ballard, Madrona, Capitol Hill and West Seattle, are a force in each respected community showcasing local artists and blanketing events all around such as weddings, birthdays, corporate events and holding Sprinkle Parties! Invite your friends to the West Seattle or Capitol Hill location and dive into the buffet of toppings with which to decorate your little cakes of sugary goodness. Each batch of cupcakes are made with the finest, local ingredients, adding to the moist deliciousness. Flavors like Chocolate, Lavendar, Lemon, Salted Caramel, and Red Velvet are just a few you can expect when visiting. One thing I enjoy about Cupcake Royale is they experiment with new flavors each month. This month they have graced us with the presence of the Toasted Coconut Lime. A vanilla cake infused with fresh lime flavor and topped with a fluffy frosting sprinkled with roasted coconut flakes, this is sure to be a hit with folks looking for a pick-me-up to go along with their jolt of Vérité coffee. Get in while you can to try the flavor of the month in either mini form or large form. Just be forewarned, you may need to tie yourself to a pole to keep from bouncing out of your shoes. Pros: four locations, local ingredients, community driven Cons: hard to find parking at all locations more

Legalize Frostitution. 6/8/2010

I don't even like cupcakes but I love cupcake royale. Located on Pike in capitol hill this is a great place to stop by and have a cupcake and a coffee. If you are like me and don't like cupcakes they have other stuff too. They have this onion bread shaped like a fish that looks delicious. There is plenty of room to sit, in fact this place is quite large. You can get cupcakes in a variety of flavors, some that stand out are lavender and salted caramel (with actual salt on the top). They also have tons of cool toppers for your cupcakes including cans of your favorite crappy beer like Budweiser, Coors, Shlitz and PBR and if alcohol is not your thing there are also ballerinas and pink flamingos. The best part though is that you can have a sprinkle party where you can get a banquet license (meaning serve your own alcohol) and decorate cupcakes, so much fun. Definetely check this out. Pros: cupcakes, sprinkle parties, art Cons: capital hill parking more
