Best Pad Thai in Cleveland 10/13/2010

My husband and I are hooked on their Pad Thai, it is so good. We also have tried the Special Bunn (mini spring rolls in the dish, sooo good), Chha Kreoung Ma Rass Prowt (excellent coconut flavor), and the chicken Neak Poan (least favorite, but still good). The only bad thing is that they don't take credit cards. InternationalFoodie must have been having a bad day because their food is really good. more

Bad food, terrible service 2/17/2009

I just came from getting takeout there for the first time. Not only is their food substandard, but the service was horrible. There was just one other person in the restaurant when I was there. With only one other person in the restaurant, I can't believe how rudely I was treated being rushed when I ordered, paid and when the food was given to me. I had a noodle dish with chicken and spring rolls. The chicken was miniscule, I thought that it was chunks of tofu because the pieces were cut so small. The spring rolls were also tiny being wrapper and not much else. The flavor was bland. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee which the server told me would have condensened milk (as it should), but it was a simple iced coffee. I have another dish which I have yet to try but am reluctant to because of my bad experience with the other food. Being Asian and working close by I thought that this would have been a regular stop for me for lunch. I was wrong. Sometimes bad service can be overlooked for good food but with terrible service AND food, forget it. Cons: food, service more

Phnom Penh Restaurant was one of my favorite restaurant. last a few weeks ago. I went there. I was dissapointed. The taste was changed, it doesn't taste like usually I get. The servise was bad. I had to wait a long time. Pros: nice decoration more

outstanding food 1/31/2006

don't let the street scene fool you. Food is outstanding; rivals lei wah and a few others as truely authentid asian food Pros: food Cons: parking more

Hidden Gem 1/28/2006

This place was recommended to me by a close friend who has traveled extensively in China, Mongolia and Vietnam - so she surely does know something about Asian food - and she was not exaggerating in her praise. The food was marvelous - spicy, flavorful and plentiful. Nothing fancy inside, just great food and great local characters. It was well worth the long drive for this meal. more

who are these people? 9/9/2005

i read the other reviews and decided to give this place a try. who are these people? they apparently don't know what good asian food is about. it's a complete hole in the wall that serves extremely bad food. i'd really starve or got to some random chinese take out. it's not authentic at all. you would get better food make yourself ramen noodles and call it a day! more

A Beacon of Light on the Cleveland food scene 2/22/2005

This truly is a jewel of a restaurant. If you want ambience this is not the place, but if you want good food I would highly recommend it. The food is absolutely delicious. Although I can't remember the names of the dishes, we asked for a recommendation from the waitress. She recommended dishes based on our preference for spicy and they did not disappoint. The restaurant is small, so go early. Pros: food, service Cons: Parking, No credit cards more

Excellent 2/18/2005

Food was excellent and came out spicy just as ordered. Did not have to add salt or hot sauce to spice it up. Just very good. Pros: Great food, Good service Cons: Parking more

This restaurant is highly rated not just on this site but in Cleveland Ethnic Eats .. man what a disaapointment .. Liekmy stuff spicy and they adverstised that my order would be, but what i found is that htey added Chilli pepper not flavor ... Also found alack of fresh veggies in my dish ... so sad, went there with high hopes Pros: inexpensive more

Best food in the world 12/1/2002

If you want to talk about the best Cambodian and vietnames food, there no where else better than Phnom Penh.I love their food very much. For instance, they have the best Cambodian comination curry Bayon, Beff Banh hoy, sea food Amok siem reap ,and the Flavor of pinaple which call shrim Neakporn are my favorite.I would recommand All those above for you to try at the fisrt time, the others are good too.In fact, the Server there are helpfull.I would recomand for a big group so that you can try different food and share like a family style.I wish I could live close to that place so I can eat everyday. One question that i want to ask them is ""Why don't they move to east side?"". Pros: Best food, Best service, fast food Cons: poor parking, small and tiny place, not good location more

Like Angkor Watt in Cleveland 5/16/2002

The food here in this blandly decorated restautant (essentially a coffee shop, with its formica tables and drop ceilings) is worth driving across town to eat, especially the vegetarian dishes. Even better are the patrons -- you'll dine side-by-side with Cambodian and Vietnamese poets, writers and families who, on occasion, present their art and share stories. One rarely thinks about there being a strong South East Asian community on Cleveland's near West Side: but it's right here, and it makes for a fascinating dining experience. more
