Today started my encounter with Crockett County's 911 system. I have purchased property in Crockett County. Before I can do anything I have been told I have to establish a 911 addresss. After calling and leaving message after message the new 911 commissioner finally calls me back. He wants to know the names and addresses of everyone living within a mile of my property. I have no clue. I purchased 3 acres and he tells me that he can not give me a 911 address until I have a driveway. He is just trying to show athority that he does not have. He says he has no way of knowing without me establishing a driveway what my address will be. He says that it doesn't matter which way my house is facing what matters is the street that the drive way is on. There is only one street or road that my driveway could come off of. I know how this kid got this job, I just want to know why. This position should be elected rather than appointed.
Pros: I have found none at this time
Cons: The person running the place isn't smart enough to have this job.
