The most amazing thing about this store is the great story that the owner Jim tells the clients about why he is located next to a Baby's R Us. He explains how he can offer a superior product at a comparable price to his corporate competitor. Unfortunately, that is not accurate or even close to accurate in our case. When you are dealing with pregnant clients you have a duty to respond appropriately within a timeframe. Well we ordered our furniture on June 30 2013 and were promised that we would have our furniture within two weeks barring any acts of God. In all fairness we were told the rocker would take a few weeks longer. It is August 24th. Our crib was delivered damaged 3 weeks ago. We were called by the owner Jim and told that he could deliver the damaged part on Tuesday August 19. As was the case during this entire process, we informed Jim that we were only available on Friday Saturday and Sunday. So he tells me that he can deliver anytime after 1:00pm on Saturday. It is now 7 pm and we were first informed that the delivery truck was broken down and then I was told it was the drivers personal car. My patience got the better of me and I voiced my dissatisfaction to Jim. Instead of responding with a solution he raised his voice and explained how this wasn't his fault but my problem. Well Jim decided that he is going to drive the damaged goods out personally tonight. This company has mid grade quality furniture at a normal price. However his corporate competition would have had this resolved quite some time ago. I'm still waiting on the rocker as well and was told to expect it the 1st week of September. Don't take a chance on this Company. At one time they were respected but any current review tells a similar tale of my own. more

I don't even know where to begin. My experience purchasing this furniture has been nothing short of a nightmare. Jim the manager is the absolute worst. He's rude and condescending and treats you like trash. I ordered my furniture 3 months ago and was promised it would be here in ""2 weeks"". Needless to say it was delayed. No courtesy phone call from Jim letting us know that it would be late. I had to follow up with him. And the nerve of me for doing so!!! How dare I question where my $2,000 purchase was!! Jim did nothing but talk over me and deflect responsibility. I got one excuse after another. Weather, sickness of the delivery drivers, back order...you name it, I heard it. Finally......my furniture shows up...weeks later. Thank God! I was so excited to get it and finish my nursery and also to be rid of Jim forever. But guess what...it was damaged. Yep, damaged. You can only imagine my disappointment. Primarily because I knew what I was up against. I had to deal with Jim. Back to the damage on the furniture...Now, had I purchased this furniture from a thrift store, I'd expect dings and scratches, but when you pay a decent amount of money for brand new furniture and it arrives scuffed and busted, with WET touch up paint that doesn't even match the furniture...it's upsetting to say the least. I call Jim who of course dumps me into the lap of Baby's Dream - the furniture manufacturer. See, Jim's gotten paid on my furniture order and now he has no interest in helping me. That's obvious. Baby's Dream says they'll order me a replacement but it's on back order for a month. Of course it is. PS - Did I mention that my glider still hasn't arrived?? It's only been 2 months. In the meantime the Baby's Dream representative leaves the company and my furniture issue falls into oblivion. I contact Jim. As predicatable as ever, he gives me nothing but a bunch of excuses peppered with an attitude. Bottom line: Skip the headache. Buy somewhere else. And most importantly, avoid Jim and his sleazy, salesman promises. If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would...but it forced me to give at least 1 star more

Good product Horrific customer services and owner 4/22/2012

I have waited 4 months to write this review as I was too upset too write this when it was all said and done. My first encounter was nice, but concerning as the owner Jim was a bit pushy and forceful for my taste but wrought it off. I visited my family in Orlando during the time my wife and I were looking for a crib for our first born. Liked the furniture and and everyone seamed nice and accomadating. We placed a order for over $1,000 and the delivered it to Ft. Lauderdale were we lived at the time within a week or two. This was back in 2009. In November on 2011 we were about to have our second baby and went back to crib for life to order another set for our new arrival. We delt with Jim again and seamed to be more opinionated and rude then what I rememberd the first time, so much so my wife even commented on it. We found found what we wanted and again placed a order for over $1,000 and was told that the bed and book shelf would be delivered in two weeks and was even given a date which was great b/c this was to go into my older sons room so I could paint and get the nersary ready for the newborn. Time was certainly a big concern and I was assured it was not a problem. Jim called me a few days later and told me the drawers for the captains bed would not be ready for a month and could deliver it once it came in for another delivery charge of $100 and there was nothing he could do. During this call he was rude and cocky to the point I had to ask him to stop cutting me off and let me finnish asking what I was trying to ask. At the end of it I told him as long as the bed and book shelf made it by the end of next week it was ok. I did not here anything from him so called on the date given to find out what time we should expect them and was told there was nothing being deliverd to me and how ridicules I was for assuming that there was. Well that set me off. Jim then told me that he had canceled the bed and dresser from being delivered b/c I didn't like the fact I was going to be charged twice for deliveries. The arrigonce of this man. The short of it all is this. It took 3 months to get what I paid for and was given nothing but excuses and empty promises from a rude and arrogant man. Not to mention their delivery man left some of my order at the shop and did not notice till he made it to Sarasota. To boot there was a problem with the gate i ordered for he first crib, it was the wrong gate. He had three months to get this right not to mention a product I bought from him earlier! When i called he said its not my fault and what do you want from me, yes he actually said this! I ended up just calling babys dream direct. The baby dream product is great but the company ""Crib for life"" that sells it is terrible. Save yourself the aggravation and find another company! P.S. I called there other store and was told that they get more complaints from people regarding Jim, but in the end there is nothing they can do b/c it all goes threw him. Great company! more

Amazing! Even after 9 years! 4/19/2012

I purchased my first Crib to College set 9 years ago... it is still in amazing condition. To this day my siblings and I have purchased 5 sets of nursery (crib to college) sets from Cribs 4 Life. They have always been amazing and so helpful. Recently I had my third child and decided to convert my set back to a crib. I realized that I had missing parts. I called the store and they said they would put new hinges, latches, and all new hardware on my crib, for ONLY the cost of the hardware! I drove down there in the rain, was able to back my van into a door, and three guys were quick to unload it! My daughter slept through it. 30 minutes later I showed back up, still raining, they reloaded my crib pieces back into the van with brand new hardware fully installed! more

Great Service! 4/1/2012

I was very pleased with the service as well as the crib that we purchased at Crib 4 Life. We were promptly greeted by Jim who asked a variety of questions about what we were looking for. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and Jim took me directly to that crib. He explained all of the wonderful features, but also pointed out that I might have a difficult time placing my baby in the crib because of its height (I am rather short). I tested it and I was glad he mentioned it to me. He suggested other models that would work better for my height. They were the same price, if not less expensive than the one I thought I wanted, so I didn't feel like he was trying to up sell me on another product. I never felt pressured either. We found a crib that we love and it is perfect for our daughter. As the other reviewer mentioned, it is real wood. It is not only beautiful, but safe and practical. I recently went back there and purchased a jogging stroller. Mike showed me all of the options on the stroller and took the time to answer all of my questions. I would not hesitate to purchase additional furniture or a stroller from them again. more

Shopping for cribs in the ""Orlando Area"" 3/31/2012

When my Husband and I started looking for cribs, we quickly realized there really aren?t a lot of places in the ""Orlando Area"" too look. When we found Crib4Life we were just about at our wits end with all the particle board crud there is out there. The staff took the time to talk to us about there all REAL WOOD furniture (which were a MUST in my opinion) and it?s made in America. It was a hallelujah moment to say the least. After about an hour we left with all the information we needed, when we were ready to purchase it was just as easy not to mention the price was great, very affordable especially compared to Pottery Barn Cribs with are outrageously priced might I add. This store is a MUST visit. more

Great Furniture, Nice People, Great Prices! 3/30/2012

For one the furniture is great, all solid wood. Second the people who work there are wonderful and point out things that most people don't think of, also they aren't pushy like car salesmen are. They never try to get you to put any money down on an order until your are absolutely ready. When I was talking to the owner (Jim) we were looking at buying the Crib, Single Dresser, 5dr Chest, and Toy Box but he talked us out of the 5dr because we really didn't need that much drawer space. Who knows of a place that will do that?!? It was a great experience and I will be back to buy our next set there as well. Not the mention the prices they have are the lowest in the Country on Babys Dream Products. Highly Recommended!!! more

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! 3/18/2012

The sales person and owner? at the Altamonte Springs location were present in store and friendly both times we were there (drove from Cape Canaveral). We purchased a crib there and told we would receive FREE conversion kit as there was a special in March 2012 with the purchase of a crib (FREE was even written on our paperwork). We were then sent a letter stating we were not going to receive the FREE conversion kit. When I called and tried to hold them to the contract, the owner? was short and condescending and did nothing to accomodate the contract and hung up on me. We cancelled the order and purchased the same crib from another store. When we called the owner? to make sure we were receiving a refund as we purchased from another store he was again short and condescending and hung up the phone for the second time (both times polite on our end). I would give NO stars but am held to at least giving 1 star! more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! 2/21/2012

I just ordered a beautiful crib from Cribs 4 Life and when it was delivered I noticed that a large black scuff mark on the front had been ""covered up"" by touch up paint by the delivery guys. And the job they did was terrible and not even in the same white paint as the rest of the crib. i called the store immediately and Jim said to email a picture...so I did. And then I waited for 2 weeks for some sort of response...nothing. I finally called to check the status of the replacement and he told me that ""he sent the claim to the factory and we will see"" and that his delivery guys would have never delivered a piece with a scuff. Well I didn't cover it up, so it must have been the monster under the bed. The entire time we were talking he cut me off, talked over me and was extremely condescending and rude about an issue what was their fault. So...the cribs are nice, but just pray that nothing goes wrong! more

Expensive and low quality furniture 4/3/2011

don't spend your money on this furniture thinking you are getting high quality furniture that will last you for life. It might be solid wood but it scratches way too easy!!! I put plastic laundry basket on the top of my daughter's toy chest and when I removed it I noticed bunch of tiny hair line scratches all over where the basket was. I called them and they asked me what do I want them to do about it that they didn't give me the toy chest scratched. They said they guarantee it won't fall apart on me because it is solid wood but it is normal it will scratch because it is solid wood. Who wants to have furniture for life that will not fall apart on you but it will look terrible all scratched up!!! I don't! I wish I would have listen to my husband and we bough cheap furniture for baby that we would replace later for furniture for toddler. This way my daughter's furniture would look nice at all the time and we would end up spending the same amount of money... more
