VERY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE! SHANE GARNER, CEO, IS AN ABSOLUTE CROOK! DO NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN THE BUSINESS - JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT PAY YOUR CREDITORS. NEVER USE THE COMPANY! NEVER USE SHANE GARNER FOR ANY HIGH-PAYING JOB EVER AGAIN BECAUSE HE IS A THIEF!!! MARY SCHNICKEL IS A SNITCH! TRYING TO GET MY MONEY BACK IS LIKE PULLING TEETH. THEY ARE GOOD FOR TAKING YOUR MONEY BUT WON'T DO THEIR JOB OR RETURN YOUR MONEY. I'M WAITING FOR 4 MONTHS FOR MY MONEY AND ITS DOES NOT TAKE MUCH TO LOOK AT YOUR ACCOUNT AND CUT THE CHECK TO ME FOR WHAT YOU OWE ME AND CLOSE MY ACCOUNT! DO NOT DELIBERATELY KEEP MY MONEY, GIVE ME THE RUNAROUND AND IGNORE IT. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY OR ANY CREDIT COUNSELING SERVICE. SETTLE YOUR CREDITORS ON YOUR OWN AND NOT DEAL WITH THE HEADACHE. more

I paid in over $11,000 over 3 years to this company and got nothing in return. Their latest email stated, We no longer provide Credit Releif Services. Well I have been cheated, defrauded, and dupped. Their MO, Stall and hope you can not pay them the month amount so they can say you defaulted on your contract, then stall until you have paid the entire amount, then tell you they no longer provide that service and they keep your money. The Texas Attorney General will be glad to record your complaint but will not try to get your money back or press charges against the company. The only recourse you had, is to get an attorney to try to get some of your money back, They are betting on you not doing that because after Attorney fees you will not be getting much. Shane Garner is the CEO, and Mary Schnickel is the ""Incompetent Account Rep"", they are criminals and should be avoided. Please take my advice and do not use any of these Debt relief Companies either on-line or not. more

Save yourself stress 6/10/2011

Do not use this company. To simple cancel my service is ignored, constant calling of creditors, and the company continues to contact my credit card companies, causing me more stress. Once you sign the contract Credit Alliance ignores you and any calls you make to them. Do not use this company. more

A Rating with the BBB 4/6/2011

I did some research on this company before I recently joined. They had an A rating with the BBB in New York and Florida and a no rating with a few other states. There website was impressive to say the least and I spoke with Tony upon signing up and he was very upfront and candid with me about the program. I never thought I would be in this position but glad I went with Credit Alliance Group to help me out. I've been with them for about 6 months now with 2 settlements for about 50% or less. Everytime I call the reps their are very courteous and helpful. I've dealt with Mary, Cristina, Lucinda and a few others who have been great. I know these programs don't work for everyone but so far they have been great to me and I would recommend them to anyone who is in a bind financially like I am. Only thing I can say is I wish I found this company sooner. Thank you for your support and hopefully my praises here show my appreciation. more

Our Response 9/13/2010

If you worked for CAG you would know that the F BBB rating is an industry wide rating. \r Reasons for this rating include:\r •BBB concerns with the industry in which this business operates\r Every business is going to have complaints, we can't please everyone but we certainly try to. As you will see on the report 16 have been resolved and 16 have been administratively closed. We have 32 complaints in the past 3 years of doing business, which I must say is exceptionally well. Do the research and look up any other business in our industry that has been around as long as we have and see how many complaints they have. Lexington Law is not a debt settlement company and does not provide debt relief services. Lexington Law is a credit repair company. To offer debt settlement and credit repair is in violation of the FTC rules and guidelines and Lexington Law knows that as well. They have an A+ rating, but have 280 complaints in the past 3 years compared to our F Rating and 32 complaints. It doesn't take a genius to do the math and figure out who the better company is.\r As far as other agents lying to potential customers, we cannot control what every single rep says and does, however we do set standards, rules and guidelines for reps to follow as well as scripts to guide them. Any rep that is caught lying or being deceiving we have terminated them from the company. We have a zero tolerance policy for this type of behavior and if you had stayed with us long enough you would know that.\r I'm sorry you were misinformed about Shane or any aspect of our program. We have been in business for 5 years and conduct business in a very professional manner. We treat customers how they would want to be treated and put them first. Our programs are not for everyone, it is a financial hardship program designed for consumers who are either already behind on their bills, about to be behind or experiencing financial or medical hardships. Debt Settlement is an alternative to bankruptcy and should not be taken lightly. Our programs do work and results will vary depending on each individual person and creditor profiles enrolled. Check us out online or call today to speak with a representative.\r more

Shady Credit Alliance Group 5/29/2010

I worked for them briefly and after being told by the top producer that the owner, Shane was a crook I immediately quit. I had reservations due to the F BBB rating and 30 complains with the BBB. But once I started doing sales for them I heard the other agents lying to potential customers and later found out that their rates are obscene compared to other reputable companies who don't have an F rating. I knew if was time to quit when I felt bad when I got a contract back in....felt like I had just ripped someone off. Try Lexington Law...A Rating Reputable Cons: Make Illegal Promises more

Freedom of Speech and the Debt Settlement Industry 9/21/2009

Debt settlement has been scrutinized for years. The community tends to look at the negative aspects of the industry without seeing any of the positive. With the Constitution infringing the right to freedom of speech, it has born websites, blogs, articles, etc. that allow citizens to express their concerns or praises on certain subjects. God Bless America! With that said, complaints have been posted about our corporation that we would like to clarify; it is our right as an American. Please note that a greater portion of the complaints listed are mere criticisms on the industry as a whole. Hopefully this article will squash any unjust truths that have affected the integrity of Credit Alliance Group (CAG).\r \r COMPLAINT 1 – CREDIT SCORE\r Sadly, anything that you do other than pay your creditors EVERY month in FULL and ON TIME will have an impact on your credit score. We at CAG offer a HARDSHIP Debt Settlement program. We help consumers that can no longer pay the full amount of their unsecured debts due to adversity avoid bankruptcy. With that said, clients enrolled in our program are not, or will shortly not be, paying their creditors; thus causing their score to be affected, or soon be affected. We are doing nothing more than what is inevitable. No creditor will negotiate an account that is current.\r \r COMPLAINT 2 – VOLUME OF CALLS\r In a settlement program, the client makes the choice to not make monthly payments to their creditors. Thus provoking the creditors to call and try to receive payment. But, as a client enrolled into our program, we send a Cease and Desist letter along with a Power of Attorney to the original creditor or collection agency in charge of the account(s). We then send the client a DAAN module to connect to their home phone that will notify the creditor that you have retained a third party representative to handle their unsecured account(s).\r \r This will regulate the amount of contact that the client will receive from creditors or collection agencies. It will not stop it completely. Original creditors, once they become aware that they will not be receiving payment, more than likely will sell the clients’ account(s) off to a collection agency. We will then have to contact the new company in charge of the account. Unfortunately, companies do not notify us of this when it happens. As a client, you are responsible for notifying us of this. That way we can contact the new company ASAP and help with any collection calls.\r \r COMPLAINT 3 – FEES\r ALL fees are disclosed in our contract that EVERY one of our clients sign upon enrolling – PLAIN AND SIMPLE.\r \r COMPLAINT 4 – NAME CHANGE\r We are still proud to be named Credit Alliance Group. We do though have different departments within our company with specific names. They are as follows:\r 1. Credit Alliance Group – Our Credit Officers responsible for initial enrollment\r 2. Client Services Group – Our Client Relations Department\r 3. Credit Alliance Services – Our Administration Department\r 4. Alliance Invoice Group – Our Accounting Department\r \r COMPLAINT 5 – DEBT AMOUNT GOING UP\r When a client enters the settlement program, they make the decision to stop payments to their creditors, if they are not already delinquent. The creditor(s) then will continue to tack on additional interest and fees. One of the reasons why we quote our clients between 40 and 50% is because of this. We will go in and try to settle at the lowest percentage that we can with the verified debt amount that we validate at the beginning of the program. By settlement time, we should be able to settle the account at no higher than 50%. We are able to do this with the good relationships that we have each lender.\r Pros: PART 1 more

Stay away! Save yourself a headache. 4/22/2009

""We provide you with exceptional customer service designed to effectively achieve your goal of becoming debt free. Creditors will stop calling. Save 40-60% off your credit card debt. Attempting to resolve a debt through settlement is looked upon more favorably than filing bankruptcy."" Sound familiar? Don't believe the hype. After enrolling in their program the volume of calls I receive from debt collectors INCREASED exponentially. My guess is creditors are beginning to become aware that these guys are full of BS. CAG will tell you to forward these calls to them, or send them the information to file a complaint with the FTC. Once you do, they send you links to the FTC and/or prompts on what to tell your creditors when they call. Essentially, you end up doing their job for them. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous. E-mails to them frequently bounce back or go unanswered. In the rare chance that you do hear back from them, it is not for at least a week. This may be acceptable from a creditor, but not from someone who is supposed to be working for YOU. Talking to them on the phone is even worse; they treat you just like those awful credit collectors. Their disdain for your situation and concerns is clearly apparent. Once they have a few payments, they quickly change. If you try and cancel and get your money back, they inform you of ""service fees"" that just happen to total the sum of your payments to them. I've worked with the following reps at CAG and all have been awful: Bryan Garner Eric Pinola Karen Snyder Charrissa Whitley In the time since I've signed up for debt settlement with CAG I've received several debt settlement offers from my creditors. They mostly range from 40-60% off of my total debt. I personally negotiated one down to just under 40% and am working on the others. Debt settlement is a hot topic at the moment. Do your research online and buy a book or two at Borders. Don't pay CAG for something you can do yourself. Save yourself the headaches! Cons: yes, they are indeed cons more

HORRIBLE LIFE WITH CREDIT ALLIANCE GROUP! 2/3/2009

Credit Alliance Group will RIP YOU OFF! They do not tell you what goes on with your account. Every time you want to talk to a representive they do not know what is going on. The owner and the managers act as if they are better then you and talk to you stupid like you are a kid! That company CHARGES WAY TO MUCH!! all they care about is getting there money and not helping you. Please visit OTHER SITES FOR THEIR RATINGS as you can see their rating is a F-. I am not surprised they have a F-. They have horrible customer service and all they do is LIE, LIE, LIE. Credit Alliance Group will write about themselves and how they have great service with their clients on other sites for a rebuttal they write being a client with them. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! THEY ARE SCAM! I DO NOT WANT TO SEE PEOPLE GETTING SCREWED WITH THEIR MONEY. Cons: EVERYTHING IS BAD WITH THIS COMPANY more

One horrible company DO NOT WORK WITH THEM RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SIGN UP!! 11/20/2008

I worked with this company this year for approximately 8 months and not only do they do nothing for you regarding creditor issues, but you actually have more problems with creditors when working with them. Their main voicemails are never checked, their emails come back in error and to top it off they charge you so much money you don't even know why where your payments go? escrow or to them. Their owner, Shane Garner, is a liar especially when he calls me telling me he has made payment and yet another client relations representative re-sends the same payment he has 'supposedly' made more than a week ago. He gets into your account and makes more mess than it should be in. So be careful when considering/contemplating getting into debt management. This is NOT a group to recommend to you or anyone in your life. I will also be reporting them so other consumers are aware of them. Pros: NONE Cons: bad customer service, awful representatives, no communication, no paperwork, bad ownership, un-professional overall more

HORRIBLE COMPANY... 9/8/2008

\r THEY ARE CROOKS... STAY FAR AWAY FROM CREDIT ALLIANCE AND SHANE GARNER...\r WAS TREATED WITH THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER... SORRY TO SAY, BUT SADLY TRUE... more

Finally a Company that cares and helped us out! 8/30/2008

I had a bad experience with another company like this, but they are legit and have been sooo helpful. From start to finish. They completely explain the program to me and told me all my options that way I could compare. After comparing this company with about 10 others, I am 100% pleased with their services and how helpful they are. I would recommend them to anyone that is having debt problems. Credit Alliance Group is in an entire different league than there competitors. They even gave us a DAAN Module that redirects all my harrassing collection calls to their office. What more could I have asked for? Absolutley love it! If you want a second opinion or want to know your options give them a call 866-501-0510 Pros: DAAN Module that redirects all my creditor calls Cons: Haven't been able to find one yet! more

SCAM SCAM SCAM 8/28/2008

Do not use this company. If it was not bad enough with gas prices, the housing slump, and now here are these thieves. They scammed me out of everything. Also read most of the reviews - they are fake. written by people that work there. This business takes money from people in need. They obviously do very well for themselves - these crooks will hopefully GOD willing be persecuted by the law. Just like the mortgage brokers did to so many Americans, here is another business that is corrupted. These people will get whats coming to them - eventually the law will be at the door knocking and people will be coming out in hand cuffs. Cons: EVERYTHING more

Be aware. 8/9/2008

Scam!!!! There's nothing that a company can do that you can't do for yourself. Call your creditors and work it out. They'll work with you. You can't settle recently active accounts for 60% of the balance. That's like asking someone to just give you free money. Do not ignore your creditors like they say. Trust me, I got screwed by this company, but through it I learned how to handle it all by myself. I can be contacted for personal advice if need be. The first 3 payments to this company are fees. nothing goes to your creditors which means you ignore them for three months minimum. That's a very very bad thing to do to people who can destroy your credit. Most of these reviews are fake. The only other real one on here is another guy talking about how fake these reviews are. Pros: After 3 months I was finally able to recover my enrollment fees Cons: are cons more

Saved My Mortgage 7/3/2008

I have been living off of my credit cards for a while and just got back from Iraq and although I should have spent my money more wisely, i didn't and just got myself in more debt with buying a home. I found this company online and well i did my research first of course me being a military guy. A lot of other companies scared me with the thousands of complaints they had on them. And i figured although they had a few but for 4 years in business with 6 complaints it was a lot better than the others with like 9,000 complaints. Im not naive, i know that not everything is perfect in this world, but they sure have helped. they pretty much consolidated all my credit card debt into one low monthly payment that i could afford which allowed me to make my mortgage and car note. Thank God! i dont know what i would do without my house or car....i would recommend their services to anyone, they sent me this home module that redirects all these harrassing crazy creditor calls to their office that way i dont have to deal with them. them creditors are just plain crazy some times! Thanks again everyone at Credit Alliance Group.... Pros: the module they sent me that redirects these creditor calls! Cons: its taking me 36 months to pay it off, but its better than bankruptcy i guess.... more
