Coxco Transmissions Total Car (closed permanently)

This is to let everyone know that I did take my car in to be fixed at Coxco Transmission back in October of 2008, I talked to Robby the manager and he had said that there was no charge on looking at my car to see why it was heating up. I had left my car in their hands, seeing that I am a girl, I thought that he would take advantage of me, but to my surprise, Robby called me and explained what was wrong with the car, I asked him not to work on the car till I got there. When I got there he was very polite and took his time to explain everything to me. I asked that he not work on the car till I knew how I was going to pay for it, he then explained that Coxco has financing and which to me was great, I have crappy credit and they were able to finance me with was at a good price, 2 week before I had taken it to another company and they quoted me a price that I could have put a down payment on a new car. Well I just wanted to say that everyone there was great and my car is running like new. Thank you Robby! Pros: cut to the chase Cons: needs a bigger waiting area more

I want to thank the people of Coxco Transmissions for the outstanding job they did on my truck transmission and also for the exceptional job done on my Granddaughters vehicle. I have referred 4 of my friends to them and they all have the same story. Good service, outstanding customer relations with the manager and his staff and good value for the jobs they performed. I would recommend Coxco to anyone who wants a good job, outstanding warranty on their work, excellent staff and friendly atmosphere during the transaction. After having problems with our vehicle during the holidays, our car needed to be looked at due to some transmission problems. We saw a blue and white SIGN posted with Coxco transmission Repair with free estimate and free towing. We called the man and he was extremely helpful until he had our vehicle at his shop. We found out that the estimates were only free if you gave authorization to have your car worked on once they took it apart to find out what was wrong, then the towing was not free if we don?t have our car worked on either. The office manager was extremely rude, arrogant, and unmerciful when we were in disagreement with him. He began yelling, raging, screaming, and seemed to switch personality right before our eyes. He was extremely unethical and he has no customer service sense whatsoever. This business is very unethical and unprofessional. Customers stated that the police had been previously called before we were there and that the manager was so extremely rude and that he had the people in tears. They want to make as much money as possible in a short period of time and are very unethical about their business practices. Save your time, money, and go to a reputable place of business. Although this is a 40 year old business, which sounds great when the manager tells you, this place will be run to the ground by their illegal practices. We asked to talk with the owner and come to find out the Office Manager is on a power trip since he is in charge and later we found out he was not the owner. This definitely is a Bait and Switch that the illegal used car business did years ago, and now it has moved into the transmission business and namely, COXCO as an unethical business. Shame on those 40 years of business and for using customers to run a dirty and seemingly illegal business activities and mindset. Unfortunately, we were not aware that this place had a horrible reputation and that on several occasion customers have shown up with police officers because of altercations. This from San Antonio Police Department. Apparently this business promises free estimate, towing etc, however once you get there they won't let you out of there without giving them at least 500.00, even if you told them you did not want the work done. Buyer beware of Coxco Transmission in San Antonio. more

i would advise that no one ever go to this place...my husband took his car to simply get looked at since this place does free estimates...they gave him a estimate and told him it would be 1000 for a simple radiator fix...too much money...on top of that we told the owner that we could not afford it and he told my husband that we wasted his time...which we thought was very rude and disrepectful to a customer...after the agruement with the owner he told my husband good luck with your car in a very disrepectful way and when my husband got back to work his car over heated even worse..he looked under his hood to find that most of the hoses were disconnected and not the way they should be....which could have messed up our car even worse then it already is...he called and confronted the manager but he simply said ""i wasnt the one that looked at your car""....so please everyone do not take your car to this place...all we wanted was to see what was wrong with our car and see how much it would be...the owner was the one who was rude first by saying we wasted his time and to not to ever our vehicle back again....i dont want to see this happen to anyone else...and its sad how people and even owners of a business treat their customers like that..we are in process of contacting a lawyer... more

I called this guy and he was a complete ahole on the phone. I cant imagine the poor bastards that got stuck having to do business with this guy. I cant believe he is in business at all. There are allot of other companies in town that actually appreciate your business and wont rip you off. Cons: everything more

I have never in my life experienced a more unprofessional environment than I did at Coxco Transmissions on Huebner Rd the other day. To top it all off the so-called sales manager Mr. Robbie was rude and lied to my family and myself from day one. We were referred by a great shop and trustworthy mechanics from 4G's to Coxco becuase 4g's does not replace/rebuild transmissions. Robbie was friendly on the first call offering a free towing and free diagnostics. Once my car was there though he called me back to tell me it would be $614.00 for re-conditioning the vehicle. Asked him to explain this erroneous charge which he never gave to us in detail. This so-called term was used only to make money!!! I already knew my transmission had to be replaced and I paid $600.00 to be told that by Robbie again. Even after I paid him my parts were just thrown in the car. Basically, he charged us for something that wasn't even done when we gave him the money. He would not even give us the car back when we paid him. Made us wait!!! Horrible!Horrible!Horrible!!!!! Please beware, go somewhere else for your transmission. This guy and this place is a joke. See u in court Mr. Robbie!!!!!!! We even had to call the police to have him give us our own car back!! Don't let him lure u there because u will not get ur car back without paying him something!!! Cons: Robbie and shop itself more

I would not recommend going to Coxco Transmissions. We took our 2004 Dodge Neon to Coxco and paid $2200 worth of repairs. We got the warrenty, one week later, we were having the same problems. They had our vehicle for one month and told us that the car was not fixable and would not give us our refund. Then after persueing the B B B, the owner said that he would like another chance to repair it, at his cost. We figured, that if we gave them another chance to fix it, then we would have either a fix car or a better chance at getting our money back. They are now threatening to take us to court unless we give him $4000 in cash. We never signed that we would pay for the repairs, since he offered to do it at his cost, and the vehicle isn't worth that... not only that, we have no proof that they fixed the problem. THEY ARE HORRIBLE...DO NOT GO THERE! Cons: Thumbs down more

My parents recently traveled to San Antonio from South Carolina to see their grandson graduate from BMT at Lackland AFB (my Dad's boot camp alma mater, 1955). Late Friday afternoon, their 1995 Plymouth van started having transmission trouble. Coxco went above and beyond the call of duty to rebuild the transmission and have them back on the road to SC on Monday. They did great work for a fair price. Robbie was great to work with...he even arranged for a rental car company to pick up my Dad at his hotel. I would highly recommend Coxco for your automobile transmission needs. recently, i had my transmission fixed at coxco transmission on huebner. they took really good care of me and fixed my car promptly with an extended warranty that covered parts, labor and towing. the manager. roland was friendly, knowledgeable and made me feel good about the service my car needed. i highly recommend coxco transmission to anyone in san antonio who needs their car fixed right, with a great warranty. more

The staff was polite to my face but did not perform services/ replce parts: verified by other mechanics. They took advantage of this single mother of three for over $4,000!!!!!! DON'T GO TO EITHER LOCATION!!!!! Cons: CROOKS more

Parts not replaced- Repeated returned for vehicle/part falure. Although the staff is polite to my face- both locations failed to do what services were paid for. I have even seen other mechanics to prove that parts not replaced/ services not performed. DO NOT GO TO EITHER LOCATION ! Cons: Job not done- they will take advantage of you! more
