My family and I made the mistake of staying at the Country Club Motel when we were new to the area searching for homes. It was an absolutely terrible experience for all! Yes, it was inexpensive, but had I known the poor quality of this motel in advance, I would have definitely gone to a different town and paid more money to rent a room for the night.
The beds in this motel were horribly uncomfortable, I could not even get to sleep. The air conditioning was a shoddy window unit, which did not cool the room sufficiently, and to make matters worse, the phone in our room did not work. Our complaints to the manager did absolutely no good. He could barely understand English as it was, and I feel that he used that as an excuse not to do anything about the problems we encountered. We needed to use the phone, as our cell phone would not work in this area, yet the manager would not even move us to a room with a working phone. With the extra money we spent using a payphone at a different location, we could have afforded a much nicer room at a much nicer location. I would never stay at this motel again.
