Country Cafe is a small, unassuming French restaurant on Thompson Street. Because it doesn't stand out on a main street, it's more of a local neighborhood favorite. Even though it's not on an action-packed street, expect to wait for a table if you arrive at peak lunch or dinner hours.
The restaurant itself is tiny, about 12 - 15 tables, and since it's almost always full, I've often wondered why they don't expand. However, they've got their service down pat. As the waiters run back and forth down the narrow restaurant, everyone dining there seems to have a smile on their face. One has the impression to be dining with friends since the waiters always seem to know at least one or two of the tables.
Food is delicious - traditional French menu. No matter what you order, you'll be happy - extra yummy are the escargot, coq au vin, and duck confit. Make sure to have some French wine with your meal for the perfect treat, and you will leave smiling.
