We booked a room at the Cottonwood Inn for 09/30/2008. When we arrived, they couldn?t find the reservation, even though we gave them the name of the person who took it. However, they had a room for us so we took it and gave them our credit card information again. When we returned home, we found that we had been billed twice. When we called about it, the owner said that we had booked the wrong date and therefore we had to pay a ?no-show? charge of 100%. When I told her that I was sure about the booking date, she said that I could dispute the charge with my credit card organization. Since we did stay there, customary buniess practices would have them reverse the erroneous charge no matter who was at fault, but the owner was adament that they couldn't possibly have made such an error. Nevertheless, we are very fastideous about such matters and this time at least, they did make a mistake. We reported them to the Kansas Business Oversight Authorities and had the charges reversed from our credit card. At best, they have very, very poor customer service. At worse, they are shady. Stay away!
