The SceneLow ceilings and high decibels greet you in the Cotton Club, an intimate venue located in the former Baptist church basement of Atlanta's renowned Tabernacle concert hall. Entering balcony level, patrons wander through casually clumped wooden chairs before descending towards the stage. Downstairs, the room runs long and narrow, with the stage flanking two-thirds of it. Bars are to both sides, and a few tall tables loom between steel supports towards the center. The DrawFor those who like their rock loud and up close, the Cotton Club delivers, no fluff. Each year a fresh crop of hot up-and-comers is featured, as well as more established local and international favorites. The cave-like venue is the place to show your allegiance to your favorite artists, as the intimacy of the uncluttered room allows for amp-hugging devotion towards the acts that grace the low, accessible stage.
