I have had a Costco card for 11 years and I am ashamed that my budget can't afford to say I turned in the card. The prices are so outragiously, "less", than any other store close to my home, that I can't quit renewing my annual membership. The customer service is consistantly rude, and unhelpful. I mean you, "PrePay" for bad service. It's never just one employee that makes me question myself, "Am I sure I can emotionally afford to shop here?" They see my face 1 -3 times a week for 11 years and there still isn't a time where, Tom, or Amanda, ever say to me, "Hi, how are you this week?" This isn't even the issue of their poor customer service. This is just a basis of how bad it is. Safeway employees will ask you in a 15 minute time frame, at minimum 4 times, "Can I help you find anything?", by 4 different employees, and they charge no membership fee.
