I was really in a time crunch and needed to move in like ASAP. They processed everything and let me know the next day. I have a pet and paid the deposit and they were upfront about the property. The paper stated everything that I seen that was wrong with the property. I have been living in this rental for almost a year and now have to relocate. I call them every time I need something fixed and they do so within the next day or two. They seem very nice and great to work with. I have seen some horror stories on here, but with reviews you get the people that love it and the people that hate it, not the people that are like me. I hear that most people do not get their deposit back with most rental places so I don't fully expect mine back even though it will be in the same condition I left it in. I still have over a month so I don't know how that process goes for me ending my lease. They ask like others to have the carpet professionally cleaned esp since I have a house dog. There is nothing really negative to say. I will post on here again when I move out. more

I own 2 properties in a community where Cornerstone Real Estate is the property management company. The best you can do is rent out your condos yourself. That is what I do. I work one on one with my tenants and they never have to deal with those unprofessional people at Cornerstone. more

Do not, I repeat do not rent from them there business is terrible.... I got know deposit back because they said the apartment was not clean... It was cleaner when I left then when I got it. They charged 150 for bleach stains that were already there b4 I got there.. My greatest regret is renting from this agency. We asked for months for repairs and ended up doing most of them ourselves. The condition in which we received the property was a disgrace and should have been our first clue. Alas, we had no choice. WORST EVER , SO PLEASE RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. COLLEE IS A MASTER AT USING AND MANIPULATING LANDLORDS. I AM AT A LOSS OF OVER $40,000 IN RESTORING AND REPAIRING MY HOUSE AFTER THEY RENTED TO TENANTS WHO HAD NO CREDIT OR BACKGROUND CHECKS. I DID NOT ALLOW DOGS OR ANY PETS. THEY RENTED TO SOMEONE WHO HAD A HUGE DOBERMAN (PLUS 2 OTHER DOGS) AND IT JUMPED THE FENCE AND ATTACKED MY NEIGHBOR. I CAME VERY CLOSE TO A LAWSUIT. IN ATTEMPTING TO TAKE THEM TO COURT THE OWNER COLLEE SAID "" PLEASE TAKE ME TO COURT. I WELCOME YOU TO DO THIS. I HAVE BEEN SUED SO MANY TIMES AND THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA AND ITS IDIOT MAGISTRATES FAVOR ME. THEY GO AFTER THE TENANT. Having experienced the professional attitude of CornerStone Real Estate for 5 1/2 years, I can honestly say that I have never regretted my decision to rent a house through them. As a renter, CornerStone promptly replied to any issues that rose and fixed them in a very timely manner. The staff was always very friendly and informed me upfront of all the responsibilities upon moving in as well as out. There were never any hidden fees or issues. They always inspect the house thoroughly, I would certainly trust them to care for my house in the best possible manner. The last inspection went without a problem and there were no issues with the return of the deposit. CornerStone Real Estate is always upfront and honest. On this note I would like to thank the CornerStone Real Estate team for the great service and help through half of a decade. more

Excellent Property Management Company! 6/1/2011

We lived in our home for about a year and have nothing but wonderful things to say about this company! They made the process very easy despite the fact that I was having to sign a lease prior to ever viewing the property due to being out of state. The house was better than it was described and any (small) issues that we had were quickly serviced. Their customer interaction was beyond any others we'd experienced. When it came time to move out, the inspection was simple but thorough. With the exception of having to have the carpets cleaned, we got all of our deposit back without issues. I have sent everyone I could to them because I truly believe that they are the best in Fayetteville! more

We moved into our home almost a year now, and so far it's ok. There were some minor repairs that needed to be done. And Cornerstone made it happen. You might have to call them a couple of times to get their attention but that's all apart of the business. It's not like they only have one tenant. They have many so trying to keep up with them all I can understand how easy it is to get side tracked sometimes. more

Exceptional Property Management Company 4/29/2011

I leased a country home from Cornerstone for a year and I have only good news to report about this company and their service. When I moved in I was not satisfied with the safety of my very flimsy front door. Cornerstone agreed and they replaced it with a new one right away. Not to mention they replaced the screen door with a brand new one too. Another time I woke without water in my house, the switch on the pump had gone bad. Cornerstone had a plumber out to fix my water problem same day. Cornerstone takes prompt action to keep their customers satisfied. Company highly recommended. more

Find another place to stay!!! My wife and I just left this place in October and it was horrible! We gave them a deposit of $745 and at the end of our lease we left them and in return we got back $82.38. We had the place clean as a whistle! Much cleaner than it looked when we moved in. But I guess we didn't do a good enough job to get our deposit back. Not only that when something messed up which is guaranteed when you move to there places...it takes them about 2 weeks to go see what the problem is. We had several issues with our apartment and when I called to tell them about it it was like I speaking martian to them! Cornerstone Real Estate should be closed down for treating us like that! By the way...I rode by my old place and it was still for rent!!! HAHAHA!!! But in the end I will have the last laugh! DON'T DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!! THEY WIL SCREW YOU JUST LIKE THEY SCREWED ME AND MY WIFE!!!!! more

Best Property Management Company in Fayetteville 10/16/2010

First, I want to say that this is an EXCELLENT property management company. The BEST that you can find in Fayetteville. Not to mention that their staff is very professional and will attend to your concerns or issues. Secondly, most of the negative reviews here are without any merit, whatsoever! They sound more like ramblings from a child and incoherent statements. Perhaps, the reviewers does not understand North Carolina Real Estate Law. There are certain ground rules that must be followed before action is taken against the homeowner of a rental or a tenant. Most people think that once you rent a home or condo that you can do whatever you please since you are now a renter paying rent. Not so, there are ground rules that must be followed, in order, to keep some semblance of order. If you live in a home, neighbors may complain about your home being unkempt, dirty or too many vehicles parked outside. It's your responsibility to take corrective action. If you live in a condominium neighborhood, again, there are ground rules to obey. In either case, the tenant must do some research before moving into a neighborhood. Are there rules set forth? Is there a Homeowners Association? If yes, do they have rules that must be adhered to? Again, people are naive into thinking that all they have to do is move in and be left alone. For the most part, this is true but if there are rules to be followed then one must follow them. This is, in order, to keep some semblance of order and peace in the neighborhood. If you can't obey them then I can see where you will run into problems. Than, I would recommend that you find a neighborhood that has similar tastes and likes as you do. That will solve the problem. If you are a drug user, move into a seedy neighborhood where you can be with people of similar tastes. For people that have issues that need to be resolved. Please bring them up and allow the property management company the opportunity to resolve the issue or concern. Give it some time. Things don't happen in a snap. This is the REAL WORLD!!! Not television. Again, be aware that they must go through certain procedures to resolve some of these problems. As I stated before, most of these negative reviews are without merit and mostly childish, at best. Seems to me, that these individuals do not know how to act like responsible adults. Not everybody acts or lives the same. Someone's trashy home might be somebody else's mansion. It depends how one lives. Nobody wants to tell somebody else how they should live! But at the same time, one must follow rules so that everybody is treated fair and across the board. Hopefully, you will realize that this is the REAL WORLD that we live in and not some UTOPIA. You won't find rainbows and unicorns in the city of Fayetteville, that's for sure. more

I can see how certain types of people would give this company a bad name.... to make up a lawsuit that is against the company, that's a little extreme in my opinion. they have an A+ rating on BBB website, and it lists the issues real people have complained about, btw. they have always been nice and real to me. they always use a nice tone with me and they handle issues as best they can. if i have an issue with what the owner says, they do their best to play middle man. they don't have control over what the owner says tho, so while it would be easy to be frustrated with Cornerstone, it wouldn't be right... i do hope, however, that they have hired a new painter. since they rushed me in (i was staying in a hotel, just moved back to FAY), the rooms that were painted only received one coat and it looked pretty bad. they sent someone else very quickly, and i was satisfied. every time i have called about needing something fixed, the handyman has called me either the same day, or the next biz day. he has always been super great and has made me (a woman) feel safe, which is important to me since i'm letting a complete stranger into my home. if you take great care of the house you're living in, then you will reap the benefits... we take excellent care of the owners house, they have taken notice of us and are more open to our requests now. the lawn was infested with grub worms because no one before us ever cared for the owners lawn. if it wasn't for a quick spray of some bug killer, her lawn would be gone in a year. all i have to say is treat the house and the company like you would want yourself or your own house to be treated, and you will gain the respect you feel you deserve. for those that feel like they were jipped because they didn't get the money back for application fees, deposits, or whatever, go talk to ANY apartment complex's leasing office. you will hear the exact same rules. just because you back out on a promise you made, doesn't mean a company and a home owner should pay. if you take horrible care of the house you rent, you're not going to get the money back, end of story. they have to stretch that money as far as they can to repair all the damage or neglect you did to the house. and for those that gave Cornerstone a bad review because of issues you had with a neighbor, you gave the wrong person a bad review. they can't control what issues you have with those around you. maybe you should give you neighbor a bad review instead... all in all, do your own research. you don't have to trust everything you read on the internet review sites, check out the company yourself, check out BBB, etc. Pros: they rushed to move me in quickly! I rented from CornerStone for 2 years and I was more then happy with everything that they did! Not only did I get my FULL security deposit back I got so many compliments on how well I kept my house! They did their inspections and fixed things that I did not even notice needed to be done (on the exterior)! more

Wouldnt reccomend 7/15/2009

Cornerstone was very unprofessional, my husband and i were fined for the ridiculous stuff, and it was on a weekly basis. We never ended up having to pay the fines because the people that were calling and complaining were harassing us about the issues. We had terrible neighbors that watched us, every little thing we did, they reported us. The neighbors lied to our faces about the complaints and the worst part was our neighbors were on the board of directors, he lied, to our faces daily, and the management together was so kiddish. It came down to him blaming cigarette butts on us when neither of us smoke and there are 8 families per unit, AND he chose to blame it on us.. This was in the Karen Lake condos. I wouldnt recommend living there or even checking it out. The rules are beyond belief and you have to watch your back. My car was also broken into, window smashed out and all. The management is more concerned with people picking up their pets feces, and whether they are following the rules than watching and making sure peoples belongings dont get stolen. Our neighbors turned us in for everything, things they didnt do themselves and when my glass from my car window was on their car, they didnt say a work to me, they just left and went on with there marry day. If you chose to rent, stand your ground, and enjoy being treated like your 2. more

I love the property, the price, and the staff at cornerstone. I had an issue with my house I called cornerstone and they took care of it right away .I highly recomend service with this company and look forward to continuing my renting with this friendly staff. Terrible management 4/7/2009

This company lacks professionalism. It has been a terrible experience renting from Cornerstone. There is no communication between the people who work there and the owner. The owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. We have been treated as if we are renting low income housing. It is difficult to someone to come out for mainenance. We were told that it may take up to a month for the heat to be fixed, in winter. All in all, we wished that we had gone with our first instinct to not rent from Cornerstone. We did love the house. Terrible if you're renting 4/1/2009

Everyone in the office is rude, nobody ever returns your call, it takes forever for repairs to be done, and getting in touch with the owner seems to be impossible when it is for the renter. If it is convenient for them or when it will benefit them, they can get in touch with the owner within the hour! From the beginning of our rental until our too long departure, it has been nothing but chaos and a headache. Be cautious and make sure the house you're renting is worth all the stress.
