poorest of customer service 9/2/2014

At our weekend lake house, we were spending July 1 thru July 6 there. Left message July 1 we had no service.We called back the next day to see if they would call our cellphone prior to arrival so we would be sure to be there. We were advised they don't call ahead.Called again July 3 & was advised we were on techs list. Left for home on Sunday. The next wkend when we arrived, tech had left note he came Monday July 7 but no one home so no repairs made. Since we are there only on wkends & they won't let us know when they are coming with the wait as much as 6 days , we had no choice but to cancel service. Their website states they are open until 7p.m. June thru Sept. Arrived at 5:30p.m. July 11 at their office. They were closed. Went back Saturday morning. Had to wait while the two customer service reps chastized a customer who had called with complaint. Was told I would receive my refund of advance payment in the mail. When we arrived at our lake house the following weekend, the tech had cut the cable from the power pole & left 30 ft cable stretched across our driveway still connected to our house. On August 11, I hadn't received my refund so I called the office. Was told they would mail within the next few days. I understand there can be technical problems beyond company controls. However no one with that company seems to be concerned for their customer. I prefer to business with local companies but you would expect a local company to have empathy for the customer. Management can set the example. With such widespread poor service,it appears this poor service is acceptable to their management. more

true enough they don't care,but you can pester jeff smoth the owner some digging on the net you can find his personel cell # as I did he wont return calls but its got to ring or fill up get the idea. I to had it paid a lot of good money for nothing. more

Garbage 7/6/2014

Worse service I ever had anywhere. Internet is not available after 4:00 PM. Lines so outdated can't handle the traffic. Dish here I come. more

The main issue is this business does not care if the customer has complaints. It will tell you to find another service provider, which, there isn't any other. So, there is the problem. No competition, no concerns to correct not meeting the cable speeds a user purchases. I continue to have terrible speeds daily. And, when I am required to have speed I am expecting, it isn't there. If you want proper cable speeds, beg any of the larger cable providers to enter into Pell City. As it is, Coosa Cable is horrible in service, speed and courtesy. Don't expect to get what you pay for monthly. It won't happen. They know you have their pathetic service or none. I have learned that I am much faster using my 4G from my phone. Sad that Coosa Cable will be a dinosaur soon enough. Good riddance! more

This company does not deserve one star... 3/30/2014

I really do not understand how this "company" is still in business. Constant outages and horrible internet service. Maybe they are paying off the city council members because this makes zero sense. We are be treated as if it's 1990 & as if we are still the "small country town", as we once were. It's 2014 & every week there is an issue with the tv feed. On top of that, we have the slowest internet speeds ever. Although this will go unheard,we need more options here for service,& this company needs to just go away. I really do not want to speak with a customer rep,who sounds as if they just stepped out of Mayberry. Please give us more options Pell City. more

Worst Experience With Internet Service Ever 7/23/2013

I signed up for their top tier service. It advertised speeds up to 1.5mbps. I verified results with - I consistently received speeds below .7 mbps. This means streaming didn't work, having to constantly reload pages... etc. It is not worth what they are charging. I bet I could use DIAL UP and recieve better speeds. I finally cancelled service after service has been down a week, with no attempt to correct it. Oh, did I mention that you rarely can receive internet between 530pm and 830pm. This is a JOKE and should be investigated by the FCC. more

Horrible service 10/12/2012

We have had TV, internet and telephone with Coosa Cable for several years. Unfortunately, they're the only cable company that services the area I live in. Our internet and phone have been out for almost 2 weeks. Every time I call, I'm told it's because AT&T cut a cable and Coosa has supposedly been working on it every day for about 2 weeks. Usually when it rains hard the cable, internet and phone all go out. A soup can with string would be reliable. I hate Coosa Cable with a white hot passion. The "customer service" is as bad as their service. When you call, 90% of the time you're put on hold while the girls in the office fix their hair or cut their fingernails or something. Words cannot adequately express the disdain I have for this company. Were there another cable company in the area Coosa would be run out of business within a couple of months. If it was possible to give a negative star rating, I would do so. more

Worse Company In Business 4/10/2010

This company has no competition because if it did they would go out of business today. Customer service is terrible and the office staff is very, very, rude. No company can last with the cable/internet service they attempt to deliver. more

Poor Customer Service 2/24/2010

Good: NOTHING. Bad: My father recently died and he had service with Coosa Cable since 1976. As executor of his will I tried to cancel service and they were very uncooperative and require a death certificate to cancel service. They hung up on me once and would not give me the presidents name or phone number.. more

i have read all the bad reviews for coosa cable and think that someone needs to give them a pat on the back because for a small locally owned business that services as big an area as they do the service is really pretty good. i lived in a major city and the cable company down there was a lot bigger and more well known than coosa cable is and believe me the service and treatment you got from them was worse than anyone could imagine. if more people would give them a little more credit for what they do then maybe the company could improve on the downfalls they have but instead everyone just keeps harping on the bad things that happen and don't remember when the service techs get out in the cold, rain or 100 degree weather to fix the cable when it goes out and i know this happens because i have had it happen in my neighborhood before. i also think the people doing all the complaining needs to stop and think just how dangerous the cablemans job really is-drunk drivers almost running over them while they are 100 feet in the air, the amount of electricity that is running through the lines they are working on, and when they go to someone's house not knowing who or what they might find inside. why don't all you complainers go to the cable office one day and do the job those people do and maybe you just might change your minds and be grateful for the services that coosa cable offers you for the prices they charge. i know you won't be able to get all those services from dish or any of the other satellite companies for this price.i take my hat off to coosa cable for all they do but i've realized since i moved up here you can't please most of the people that have lived here forever no matter what you do.i just want to give coosa cable and all the employees a BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Very Poor Customer Service 10/23/2009

Coosa Cable is by far the worst company that I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is very bad. They don't seem to care about their customers and their service is very unreliable. I am two months in and I have had to call them at least six times and guess what? Problems still not resolved. We had Directv for years and was extremely happy with them but we needed someone that could cover phone, cable and internet service in a reasonable price. Coosa was the only one that could do that so right now, we are still hanging in there. We are giving it six months. more

WORST Customer Service WORST Cable Company EVER 6/25/2009

Coosa Cable not only has horrible cable and internet service connection, they also have horrible customer service and treat thier customers as though they are unappreciated. When your cable goes out, and it will, and you call them to let them know the cable or internet is out, they are rude and are less than willing to remedy the situation in a timely manner. They say "yeah we know" and basically tell us they will get to it when they get to it....which is usually a week and a half later. My service is out ATLEAST twice a month. Unacceptable!! But I am STUCK with them because noone else services my area for cable. My suggestion to anyone moving to the area is to really research and make sure you have no other options for service before calling these guys. more

Worst.Cable.Company.Ever 2/15/2008

Not only is the service spotty, the customer reps are rude, and their channel selection is just plain pathetic. And if your service falters outside the office ohours of 9-5 M-F? Tough, you'll just have to wait. And don't even get me started on the local commercials. I was a two year customer that always paid on time. The ONLY reason I stayed with them for so long is that I just don't watch enough TV to justify DISH. In February, they disconnected my service after I was late ONE MONTH. Good riddance. Dealing with these clowns makes DISH a lot more appealing, even if it is twice as expensive. If you are thinking about Coosa Cable, think again. more

Back when we used this company for our cable, it was terrible. We didn't get any good channels besides local and sports. It would go out pretty much whenever it felt like. The price isn't worth it, especially when you can pay just a tad bit more for a satellite dish with so much more to choose from. more

Cable company 8/5/2005

Coosa Cable has been serving the area for a long time, but there are still areas of Pell City that can not get cable access. Of course we are one of them. Not to sure when it will ever be available. This company also now offers cable Internet packages. First you have to have cable. So I don't use them. more
