I've had the pleasure of eating at Cookin With Jazz 3 times & have never been dissappointed. It's a small intimate place nestled in Whitestone but it's definately worth the trip for a night of different cuisine. It's very traditional Creole but they have many non-spicy dishes too. Make sure you save room for dessert even if you have to doggie bag your main meal. The Bananas Foster are to die for & the Bread Pudding w/ Bourbon sauce, sometimes a special, is awesome. They have the oysters flown in daily from New Orleans where oysters are in season all year. This tells you how seriously they take there fare. The chef is a kwirky dude adorned in colorful garb. You'll be glad you came & leave the place very satisfied & knowing you'll return w/ friends to introduce this great find to.
Pros: Unique food, Marti Gras decor, Great Hurricanes!
Cons: Small in size, Parking lot but small, Week-end crowded
