My check engine light was on when I took my car to get smogged. It failed miserably, but of course they charged me full price. When I took my car to a Toyota dealer to find out what was wrong they told me that if a check engine light is on it almost always fails smog, and that any reputable company would have told me that rather than go ahead and do the test. Of course, Convoy Smog doesn't have the 'don't pay if you don't pass' clause - which I didn't notice - so I was out $45 (after coupon).\r

My Toyota dealer also told me that Convoy Smog should retest for free after I get my car fixed because they should never have tested it to begin with, but when I called them they refused. When I told them that Toyota said they should never have done the test because of my check engine light, the man on the phone (who CLAIMED to be the manager) told me I should have taken it in to get fixed before bringing it to them to get smogged because my check engine light was on. Hmmm...isn't that the same thing as saying he KNEW it wouldn't pass??!! \r

If I could give Convoy Smog NO STARS and still submit this review I would, but since that's not possible I am forced to leave one star.\r

Cons: They are thieves!
