The SceneBallard's newest influx of hipsters, singles and anyone else wanting a bit o' the green frequent this bar. The facade could have been ripped directly from a side alley in County Cork; a simple green signboard with the proprietor's name sits atop the window-framed entry. Inside, the brick walls are mellowed with upholstered benches, photos of Irish scenery and a large portrait of James Joyce. The DrawThe specialty here is an immaculately drawn 20-ounce pint of Guinness, served by a barman with a bona-fide Irish brogue. Irish music, from the traditional claypipe-fiddle-tin whistle to Celtic-inspired sounds, fills the bar on Saturday and Sunday nights; a mix of bluegrass, folk, alt-country and more can be heard the rest of the week.
