Concord Grill Restaurant

My boyfriend had found a coupon so we went. The coupon stated that if you bought one basic burger your second one was $1. You also had to order two beverages. So I got an iced tea and he requested a coffee to go. From there, it just got worse. They weren't busy AT ALL and yes even getting water took forever. I am a former waitress and very aware when restaurants have badly trained employees...and they were the worst I have ever encountered. So our burgers come out...40 minutes later and the fries had clearly been sitting around for quite some time. I ask for the bill, give him the coupon and he comes back with our check. I then request our coffee to go and he replies with ""Umm the coffee has already been poured out for the day."" Ok so let me get this straight, I'm obligated to pay for 2 drinks in order to get the special but then it isn't expected of you to deliver both drinks?! I was beyond shocked. It sucks for them tpo...I work in the hotel industry (on a property very close to the restaurant) and from now on will NOT be sending my guests or taking my clients there. Shame on them. more

I can't believe how bad the service has gotten! This restaurant has a great reputation for great food. However the service is beyond bad, it is down right deplorable. It took forever to be seated, and they weren't that busy. Our drinks were left empty at the edge of the table for ages. the only good part was of coarse the food, but that can only do so much to ease the anger of a bad wait staff. I have over looked the service at this place before simply because their food is outstanding, But the service consistently bad. there seems to only be varying degrees of poor service, unless you are a regular who they seem to give what little attention they have. more

I used to love this place...good burgers, boyfriend hates it (bad service) but humors me by going occasionally..... but now I will never go back. Last night they were quite busy, we walked in and asked if there was anything outside, the girl who was seating people made a face and said NO, sit anywhere inside. Ok, so we chose a very visible table and sat waiting for our server...waiting and waiting and waiting 10 minutes went by, other people were seated, given drinks, another couple even was seated outside?? I unsuccessfully tried to flag down servers several times. Finally we asked the girl who had seated us if we were in anyone's section...she went to the bar and the servers all just starred at us confused, even though every one of them walked past us a dozen times. I smiled and waved at the girl who seemed to be our server and she actually frowned and glared at us.... that was the last straw so we left after almost 15 minutes of NOTHINGNESS. Went to the Cafe Affton where they were just as busy, if not more so and had picture perfect service and delicious food. Contacted owner and she made excuses and explained why this happened, and had this to say ""Normally I would offer a gift certificate and ask the customer to give us another try, but at this point it does seem pretty useless to do that."" .....Funny thing is, I probably would have given them a second try if she had actually offered the certificate, as her appology was sincere and explanations made sense but now I just feel ackward by the owner having basically told me I would make it up to you but you don't like us so nevermind. The food is good. The first reviewer who stated this is in St George is wrong. 63123 is a large zip code and covers many small areas. It's in Concord Village/Greenpark area. St Louis County polices the area. more

The burger selection (as others have noted) is probably the largest I have ever seen. I usually eat the chicken parmesan over a bed of pasta it is my favorite. They also have very good ""homestyle"" specials from time to time such as meatloaf, pork tenderloin, beef stroganoff, etc. which are very good and the portions are usually HUGE. The parking lot in front of the place is fairly small but, rear parking is available. There are overhead televisions so you can eat and watch T.V. There is also a full bar and the overall theme seems to be nascar. Pros: Burger Selection more

There are some good burger joints in St. Louis, but there's a little place in South County called The Concord Grill that makes the best! They offer like twenty something different burgers on their menu and the seasoning on the fries are to die for. I have had their 1/2 Pound Chili Dog also and it's my second favorite there. It fills the platter. Prices are about average for a local grill, but the portions are huge. They also have a patio with a sign naming it ""The Burger Garden."" Great food, large menu. The Concord Grill has a huge variety of one pound burgers to choose from and all them are delicious (the Concord Burger is the best). The staff is friendly and every Thursday night from 6:00-10:00 they have live music. Although the serve a full menu, hamburgers is what they are known for. So if you are looking for the best burger in Saint Louis be sure to stop into the Grill. Enjoy! Pros: Inexpensive, Lots of parking, great hamburgers Cons: small bathrooms, crowded at times more
