I took my dog to the Norwood Park Animal Hospital for a simple ear infection problem. They had the gall to charge me 93.00.Of which, 52.00 of the bill was for a new patient exam. ...

If you care about your pet, Dr. Hammer is a caring and compassionate vet, who takes the time to explain everything to you prior to doing it. Great place, a little out of the way, but worth the trip especially if your pet has orthopedic issues. more

$93.00 is pretty conservative for an ear infection. A $52.00 exam fee is typical. Appreciate the doctor's effort to teach you about anal gland expression- It is not beneath him to show you how to do it for free. He was avoiding having to charge you for it. AG expression can run you $30.00. I'm sure you wouldn't complain about spending money on your own healthcare. I would price check a few vet clinics before you go bashing the gall of someone trying to make a decent living in a field that makes no money! more

Dan C is a nut and does not no what hes talking about. Apparently he doesn't know how to take care of his dog since that was the first time it has been to a hospital. If $ 93.00 is to much he shouldn't even own a dog. The doctor told you how to check the anal glands yourself so that you don't have to come in every time its a problem. more

stay clear 11/23/2006

I took my dog to the Norwood Park Animal Hospital for a simple ear infection problem. They had the gall to charge me 93.00.Of which, 52.00 of the bill was for a new patient exam. All Dr. Difuccia did was check his heart with a stethescope. That's it! Also, I mentioned his anal glands were bothering him and he told me how to check them myself. I guess that was beneath him. more
