I've been taking my pet to Companion Animal Hospital ever since I moved to Santa Cruz about 5/6 years ago. It's not far from where I am and they are always very accommodating to whatever I need. I visit them for both routine care with my kitty cat, as well as emergency or unusual situations that pop up. For instance, there was a feral cat in my neighborhood that attacked my pet and I had to take my cat in for surgery urgently. They also put down my kitty cat who was over 20 years old. That was heartbreaking for me, but they did it with care. So I've had good times with Companion Animal Hospital as well as bad times. I've even got my son to take his two pets to them as well as recommending their services to my tenant. I applaud them in every single aspect of medical care. more

Happy with the service 11/16/2016

I like their prompt service and all the vet techs are super friendly. My cat had an abscess and Companion Animal Hospital was my first choice. Aside from the prices, I am happy with their service. more

I've been using Companion Animal Hospital for many years. They're very caring and they give great care for my pets. Their communication is excellent. It's easy for me to schedule appointments. We travel from Santa Cruz to Scotts Valley to get them taken care of. more

Companion Animal Hospital really is committed to helping animals. They have always been great with our dog and we are very satisfied and highly recommend them. What really stands out for me, personally, was the way they went above and beyond for a dog we found on the highway. We took him there when we saw he had no collar and they were amazing. It was right around closing time and they welcomed us in. They read the chip and started caring for the dog right away. They stayed after closing just for this 1 dog. I have always been impressed with them, but this really put them over the top in my book. Absolutely a 5 star establishment. more

I found Companion Animal Hospital to be very responsive and caring towards my dog as well as me. They've been a great resource for us and have been with my dog since he was a puppy--and he's now 5. I implicitly trust their judgment when it comes to the health of my dog, who is a member of our family. more

Really a great staff 12/17/2014

We were really happy with the attention that our kitty received, with how much information we received from the vet and the tech, and by how clear they were about what the costs would be. I found this to be especially notable: the vet prioritized what she saw as the most important things to do were, and allowed us to make the decisions on whether to get this immunization or not. I never felt that we were being pushed to do something or select another treatment. They were fabulous with a cat that is usually very unhappy at the vet's, and very reassuring with us. more

Best veterinarian office I've ever been to! 4/15/2014

I've been using Companion Animal Hospital forever, and I will continue to use them no matter what! They are really, really good at what they do. They educate you too through their explanations. That is a really important part of the quality of their service. Dr. Horne is amazing. The only suggestion I have for improvement is that if they are busy, they could tell you they are busy. That way you know what's going on, so you're not just being chatted with as a stalling tactic. I work in a dentist office so I understand that's what you do sometimes if things are busy in the back. more

I have been a customer of Companion Animal Hospital for twenty years. I always bring my pets to them. I have had numerous cats and two to three dogs, all clients of theirs. They are excellent, caring, supportive, and sympathetic. more

Excellent service 4/7/2014

I'm really happy to have found Companion Animal Hospital. The doctors were very easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. They were very thorough with explaining the issues without making me feel rushed. The prices were affordable and I'd definitely recommend them. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and gave me a lot of options before proceeding. more

I have two cats and Companion Animal Hospital was really attentive when I took the first one in. They were really nice and treated my kitty like she was really important. This made me feel comfortable enough to take my second cat in when he needed it. They were able to figure out what was wrong, gave him medication, and called to see how he was doing. I'm very happy with them. more

Really nice! 3/26/2014

I have a little cat who looked like he was sick. Companion Animal Hospital performed some blood tests and diagnosed him They gave me a lot of information and followed up with me by sending me some more written information on his condition. I'm really glad they did that and I feel like I got all the information I needed. The lady at the front desk as also very sweet and they're all easy to talk to. Overall, it was a good experience. more

I highly, highly recommend them! 3/21/2014

Definitely a high 5 rating for Companion Animal Care. I have three dogs and they take really good care of them. I've been with them for 10-11 years and I think they are the best veterinarians, ever! We've lost a couple of dogs due to old age and Companion Animal has been incredible as far as taking care of us and helping us through it. Dr. Horne is friendly and takes a personal interest in our dogs. We've been really lucky to find them. more

Treated my dog like a human being. 3/19/2014

I came in to Companion Animal Hospital because my dog needed surgery on her ear. I came to them after the surgery had failed with a different vet. They were extremely polite and took the time to explain what was going on and what the problems were. They ran tests then called me back. During this time the vets came together and decided that Dr. Horne would be the best individual of all the vets to perform the surgery. This blew me away because they were treating my dog like a human being in terms of finding the best doctor. The procedure itself was first rate and so was the customer service afterwards. They kept in touch with me and everything I needed was taken care of. It was great. more

Very professional, kind, and affordable 1/22/2014

I really like Companion Animal Hospital. Everyone there is just really sweet, efficient, and truly cares about my pets. Their service is fantastic. I've been going there for the last couple of months and have been very satisfied. They helped my kitten get all the vaccines that he needed and also neutered him with great care. Everyone there is just wonderful and very patient with any questions that you may have. I'm glad that I picked them and would recommend them. more

Very happy with them 1/17/2014

I love Companion Animal Hospital. We got their puppy startup package for new customers and it's worked out wonderfully. There hasn't been a single emergency that they haven't been able to squeeze us in for. I really love how flexible they are with scheduling. Everyone on the staff is great and very friendly. They learned our names and always ask about our pet by name. These are the little things that tell me about how exceptional their service is. Delilah is so terrific and helpful. Dr. Horn is the best veterinarian our dog has had. He always makes the kind of time for you right when you think he's super busy. He's really thorough and truly cares about the well-being of your pet. Overall, I'm very pleased with their service. more

We got our boxer puppy in March 2013 and after researching all local vets found that Companion Animal Hospital had the best puppy package, allowing us to choose the lifestyle vaccines that we wanted. We could not be happier with the staff at Companion! We have had multiple small problems with our pup, from digestive issues to ear infections and possible kennel cough. Through it all, Dr. Horne and all of the staff at Companion have worked with us not only to make sure our dog is healthy, but also that we are as educated as possible as dog owners. \r \r We have been ""squeezed in"" on multiple occasions and have never had trouble getting to see the doc. Their operating hours are amazing, and we always know we will be able to get help for any issue. We also had our dog neutered here and it was painless (for us at least!) \r \r We highly recommend Companion Animal Hospital!!! more
