There are some improvements that could be made to COB, and if there were other comedy clubs in Lexington my rating might be a 3 instead of a 4. But overall Comedy Off Broadway is a great little place. It's better than several I've been to in other cities near and far. I can certainly appreciate the fact COB could slack knowing they have the market cornered when it comes to watching stand-up in a club setting; that even though the only other place to see *real* comedians is Singletary Center (though hopefully KY Theater and The Lyric will continue to add more stand-up as time moves forward--had great times at both places) the powers that be at COB don't seem to do anything but try to bring in the best acts possible. I applaud COB for this. I love live comedy and have a great time at Comedy Off Broadway. Yeah, if there are only two in your party you have to sit with strangers, and we've been stuck with ""that guy"" a time or two. That's okay. It's fun and worth the price of admission and a few drinks. It would be even *more* worth it if, as someone mentioned, both the clips and Scott Wilson's act were updated. I know we're not there specifically to see either, but come on. Prep us a little. We have a good sense of humor and don't ask for much! But the comedians are always funny, the drinks are usually strong and I nearly always enjoy the atmosphere, though if you go on a night when a majority of the crowd come from surrounding areas or you get the wrong local crowd it can be kind of a bummer. What I mean is I've gone a couple of times when the comedian was fantastic but the crowd was kind of dead/a downer and it was strange. Can't let that ruin the night, but it's definitely a crap shoot when you book your tickets. One other thing to COB owners: Get on Twitter and Facebook! I don't know what the current aversion is to either, but I promise when you come into the light you'll be glad you did.
