I have been a member of the CAC for about 6 months and have, overall, been very pleased with the quality of the facility, the equipment, and the availbilyt of workout options. Particularly, they have a very strong personal trainer staff and a good, attentive facilities and sales staff. The only major divot has been recently in the very nice remodel to the locker rooms. They have installed new lockers and carpet; both are a large improvement, but some of the details of the transition, particularly the reassignment of lockers, seem to have been mis-managed pretty severely. In what seems to me now to be a ""penny-wise, pound foolish"" maneuver, they reinstalled the old combination locks in the new lockers even as they knew they didn't work very well in the old lockers. Now, after 5 frustrating attempts to get a locker that works--and all didn't--and 5 shortened workouts as I've tried to deal with the situation (ending the day frustrated and annoyed intead of relaxed as I usually am after a workout), I'm almost at my wits end. The staff has done all they can to help, and I can tell that they are as frustrated as I am, but the overall impact for me has been to make me wonder about the senior management of the facility and their judgement. If I didn't think this was a clearly better club in most ways than the DAC, I would consider switching, but I am certainly hoping they can continue to plan things better at the bigger-picture level. They certainly have the potential to be the best serious athletic club in downtown Denver if they can make sure they attend to the details more effectively!
Pros: equipment, staff, fitness options, corporate discount plans
Cons: management, staff communication, maintenance details
