Welcome to Coldwater Music School
Discover the world of music in Yamaha keyboard and piano courses for ages 3 to adult. For more than 50 years, children and adults have learned to play, understand and love music in Yamaha's comprehensive and innovative courses!
The Yamaha Music Education System represents the successful realization of the Yamaha Music Foundation's goal of promoting music globally and the Yamaha philosophy that "music knows no national boundaries."
Yamaha offers courses for ages three years old and up. Students benefit from five decades of Yamaha group-teaching development worldwide. Students listen, move, sing, play, read and experience every aspect of music. The style and level of instruction is tailored to their ability and development. As they advance, they study performance, improvisation and composition.
Yamaha Music Education System courses provide an incomparable foundation for future music study on any instrument. The Yamaha method, textbooks and materials are widely regarded by educators as the best available.
Yamaha features group lessons. Why?
Most recorded and live music is performed in groups (bands, orchestras, jazz trios).
Children enjoy learning together and their interaction with parents, friends and teachers creates a joyful atmosphere that motivates them.
Students establish an excellent sense of rhythm in a group.
Playing with a group builds self confidence. Solo performance and inspiring private lessons are also an important element of the Yamaha Music Education System.
Research has proven that intellectual, emotional and physical development is positively and deeply impacted by early music study. Playing music helps develop coordination, timing and memory.
Yamaha Music School graduates include millions of musicians, teachers, performers and professionals worldwide. Every year, advanced Yamaha students are invited to perform their original compositions in Junior Original Concerts held in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Their compositions include pop, jazz, classical and modern styles, and vary from piano solos to ensemble pieces.
