BE SURE TO READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE SIGNING!\r \r Be sure to read your printed contract before you sign because what they tell you and what you are signing are two different things. They say it's month to month and you can cancel at any time but it is not.\r \r Regardless what the commercial says or when they tell you it's month to month and you can cancel at anytime, it's a lie! My husband and I signed up and confirmed, is this month to month and we could cancel at any time and they said yes but it is not! \r \r We travel a lot and we knew we would not even be living here by the following summer as we signed up in August of 2012. They offered classes and because of my travels I said I'll consider adding that on once I know how it will fit in my schedule as I knew I would be traveling a lot over the next couple of months. Of course, they are in sales and said go ahead and try it and if it doesn't work you can always remove it as you can cancel at anytime, you're already here and it was only an additional $10 since both me and my husband were signing up. \r \r Here it is 6 months later and I go in the gym today to tell them to remove the classes as I've never attended a single one and because they continually are changing the times and days of them each month, it never seems to work with my schedule. As it was, I had already paid an additional $60 and didn't want to continue paying for something I clearly wasn't using.\r \r OMGosh! Not only did I get the unprofessional head roll from side to side but she flips around the screen and says you paid for a full year and it is non-refundable. I said no, we did month to month and I added the classes thinking I might be able to use them but thus far I have not and I would rather put food on the table or donate it to someone in need versus paying for something I'm not even using and it's month to month and you can cancel at anytime. I said ask the bald guy that signed us up. \r \r I call the corporate number and oh my goodness they lack professional customer service just as bad if not worse then the gym itself. They are like we have the contract and blah, blah, blah. I said, salespeople are always verbally providing you the information and tell you sign here and initial here and here. I said why would I fib about this, I'm not asking to cancel the whole thing but just the classes I am not using. I said if it were as simple as reading contracts you wouldn't have a salesperson there everyone would just sign-up by a computer. Their thing is I forfeited the cancel at any time by purchasing the classes as its not an add on but that one is a full year. I said no, I initially was going to wait to see if it fit in my schedule and it was an add on and ...\r \r This is bait and switch and I even told them that and they said nobody has ever complained about it to them as I was the first. I was so upset because ultimately I am being called a liar and verbally abused and pushed around on the telephone. I have never had this problem before in almost 50 years of dealing with businesses that operate as gyms. Month to month is month to month this is not rocket science. Perhaps they need to check the online complaints because their are tons of them!!!!\r \r Do not waste your time, money or energy as they are corrupt, bullies and lie to you. Their equipment is old and dirty. The steam room and sauna is broken more than it works and they will lie to your face as it clearly is not month to month. On 1/6/12, I entered the Brentwood Club Fitness location. After telling the sales person, initials ESE that I only wanted to purchase the $10/month option, he told me that if I want to try the $20/month (which provides access to all locations) option I can easily downgrade at any time. I questioned this and he reassured me multiple times that I could downgrade at any time. Today, 11/26/12 I have only ever visited the Brentwood location and decided to downgrade, per our verbal agreement. Corporate offices refused to downgrade the membership, and stated that the written contract for the higher level package is binding. In addition, they stated I had ""no proof"" the verbal agreement ever occurred. more

i know so many people who get their stuff stolen out of their cars and they could confront the staff and all the staff say is oh this happens here all the time, they say it so nonchalantly and they don't care. you figure that if your clients personal possessions are being stolen here they will invest in some video cameras around the parking lot but they don't so i would not be surprised if there's someone or some people from the inside who actually has something to do with these stolen merchandise Cons: frauds more

Not bad for the price 1/4/2010

A few years back I joined Club fitness and had an issue because I did not read my contract correctly. Second time around I made sure to read the contract and understand it before I signed it! I like it so far, I have been working out for 6 months now and its been good. For $20 and month I get unlimited access to their clubs all over St Louis which is great because I work out close to home on the weekends and at the gym close to work. I also have a trainer check my progress every month which is good because even if I can't afford the personal training packages but I still get tips on how to get the most out of my workouts and diet tips. For $20 a month, I would recommend it to anyone. They also have a $60 buy out on your 1 year contract so if you need to cancel your membership, you can!!! more

Club Fitness -- lots of complaints 1/18/2009

Aside from not being particularly impressed with anything associated with Club Fitness, I joined any way. If I knew then what I know now...\r \r This site will not allow me to use the formal name of the organization that gathers and reports information on business reliability, alerts the public to frauds against consumers and businesses, provides information on ethical business practices, and acts as mutually trusted intermediaries between consumers and businesses to resolve disputes, but this organization's records show about 50 complaints over three years.\r \r Keep in mind that a lot of people try to resolve problems on their own and don't report to the above-mentioned organization. I myself tried for three long months to cancel my membership and finally had to close the bank account that Club Fitness was charging. (After my sympathetic banker promised not to charge me for resulting overdrafts.)\r Cons: staff present themselves as knowledgeable but are not more
