My boyfriend and I visited Newport, R.I., not long ago and had the chance to extensively explore much of the town. The Cliff Walk was one of my favorite attractions -- dramatic waterscapes, lush grassy areas at some points and views of grand houses -- because it wasn't tacky like some of the tourist hot spots. It's not a must-see if you're looking for an exciting time, but it is very pleasant. We went during the afternoon and again as the sun was setting; both times were really nice.
