Claudio's & Mattia's Trattoria Piano Bar

We had good service - not all over you, but there when needed. And, oh, the food! One of the best Thanksgiving buffets I've experienced on Clear Lake. Best of all, IMHO, M's seems to be an honest-to-whoever restaurant for adults. I appreciate that. We'll go back and take our friends.\r more

Absolutely the worst place we have EVER been! Had reservations for 10 for a surprise birthday party. Arrived at 7:30..they did not have enough menus to pass around so everyone had to share. My boyfriend and I ordered a bottle of wine and when it still hadn't been served after 30 minutes of waiting we were told he couldn't find a bottle opener!! Who doesn't have a bottle opener in a piano bar???!!! They brought out ONE basket of bread for 10 people!! Our friends ordered salads for their appetizers and didn't get till an HOUR later. We brought this to the servers attention (KEVIN) and the situation was treated without concern. We then talked to the manager about it and again was treated with lack of concern! After almost two hours (9:30) our food finally arrived..OUR FOOD WAS HORRIBLE! My boyfriend ordered the alfredo with shrimp and received a bowl of noodles with 3 shrimp!! The proportions on all the other plates were small and inadequate to say the least! \r \r As all of this is going on, several other tables were complaining that they as well haven't even gotten their food!! We witnessed several people getting up to go the bar to fill their drinks! As well as us!! We then brought this to the owner's attention (MATTIA) he as well as his workers were full of excuses and never once apologized for all this inconvenience. \r \r Finally when our bill came we asked that the gratuity be removed...WE HAVE NEVER NOT LEFT A TIP and because of the lack of concern and ignorance we didn't feel that we should have tipped! after we signed and left with utter disbelief over the whole experience...WE WERE CHARGED 865.00 DOLLARS ON OUR CREDIT CARD BILL!!! We immediately went to the restaurant and complained of the charges and this morning and were AGAIN treated like it was our fault!! The police arrived and \r was explained the situation and EVEN the officer was in disbelief!! \r \r Needless to say that was the FIRST and LAST time we will be there!!! I'm embarrassed for this restaurant! I have been in the customer service industry for 15 years and would have never treated people with such disrespect and THIEVERY!!!!\r \r \r RIDICULOUS!!!! more

Food was outstanding, (expensive but expected for a high end establishment), decor beautiful BUT, we had TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! Several waiters & the chef were very attentive to the table next to ours where two young females were seated. The waiters spent a great deal of time on the patio, smoking. Our waiter was horrible, we had to ask OTHER WAITSTAFF for a refill for our iced tea and when our food was served our waiter asked if I would like parmesan cheese, I said yes, he never returned. After our meal I asked for coffee, waited 15 minutes and when it was finally served it was dead cold & served w/o a spoon, tired of waiting for one I used the straw from my iced tea to stir it. We asked for the bill, when our waiter brought it he said he would take it when we were ready, we said we were ready but he left before we could take out our credit card. He did not return, after 10 minutes we asked another waiter to take it for us. We left our waiter 15% tip (which is more than he deserved). We want Claudio's & Mattia's to be successful but their waitstaff NEEDS SERIOUS TRAINING on how to take care of customers. Would not recommend to others but will go back ONE MORE TIME to see if our experience is any different. Note to Claudio & Mattia: PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE BAD REVIEWS, WE WANT YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL! more

Gave this restaurant another chance after a disastrous experience last month on our monthly visit to Clear Lake. Food was very very bland, awful fish, which was burnt and tasted awful. Ice cold red wine served yes you read that correctly. Tables on top of one another - loud and impossible poor service definitely wouldn't visit again. A very ordinary place. more

AVERAGE Food…. horribly OVERPRICED….. and TERRIBLE Service. Every waiter around seemed friendly and helpful except mine named Chris. He was horrible. He tossed our bill at us. He NEVER came back to check on us. I had to ask the Mexican water guy for a soda and never got it. Then I asked my waiter when he finally was near us. By the time I got that soda that I asked for when I started eating, I had finished my entire meal. What was the point then? He was actually pretty rude in his mannerisms. I don't expect the a child like attitude but I DO expect to be treated just a little better than this. Especially at these prices. And the topper? Because his service was so bad I left him only15% tip (which is more than he deserved). This jerk had the nerve to walk up to another waiter in front of my fiancé and say ""You believe they only left me $14 dollars?"" He was arrogant “ and must say because of the overpriced bland food and this horrible service I will never return to Claudio & Mattia's again. more

If you have to eat at a fake Italian restaurant, Claudio & Mattia's Trattoria Piano Bar does a good a job as any in the Houston Galveston area overpriced, weak drinks, bad menu but our server, couldn’t have been nicer Unfortunately, most of the food he served us was utter dreck. From there everything devolved into what you would expect from a Texas investment corporation trying to mass produce food and we highly recommend it to those who want to eat Italian food the way it will taste when they are 90 years old, at death’s door, and being spoon fed by a minimum-wage orderly who also changes their diaper and If you insist on continuing a tour of tastelessness this is the place. more

Our friends invited us to Claudio and Mattia's Italian Piano Bar this past Friday. My wife and I were skeptical at first due to the low ratings; however, when we arrived we were delightfully surprised. The best way to describe the piano bar is classy. A romantic atmosphere with a great rhythm and blues singer by the name of Phil. The entire band that played throughout the night were extremely talented. The wait staff were very attentive and polite. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Mattia, who was very sociable. If you prefer a more mature crowd, enjoy good music, and good friends this is the place to dance the night away.... more
