While my hardwood floors look better overall, there were some unexplained scratches that I did not remember seeing before, including a six-foot long scratch in the middle of a room. If, indeed, it had been there prior to refinishing, I assume it would have been sanded out. When I called them, I felt that they were just trying to explain it away, saying that the scratch was probably too deep for it to be sanded out evenly with the rest of the floor. They also said it could have been a knife used to cut wall-to-wall carpet used by a previous owner or worker which scratched the floor. In the KITCHEN?! Then I was told that redoing the entire kitchen would have lessened the life of the hardwood floor anyway, which may be true, but I felt that if Classic had done a better job of pointing out hard-to-finish places beforehand during the estimate then the experience would have been better. The owners come over for the estimate and do a fast-talking sales pitch complete with a portfolio of previous work and references.
Pros: Accurate estimate
Cons: Response to dissatisfied product, carelessness with equipment/neatness
