Clark's Auto is a beat up garage off College Avenue, near Agnes Scott and Decatur. The garage is surrounded by old, wrecked autos in various stages of disrepair, some looking as if they've been given up on altogether. The property is bordered by a rusty barbed wire fence. You'd think just looking at this place, I'd have known better than to trust Mr. Clark with my car, but I had a wreck myself and was hoping to find a cheap mechanic who cared about the car and didn't waste money on cleaning products. I have to say I really liked Mr. Clark, who is a Jamaican immigrant with a great accent, which is why I kept taking my car back to him. But in the end, even though his rates were reasonable, I wasted more money than I would have at a dealership, considering the time he charged me for repairing the wrong thing or the time I spent taking my car back to him when he failed to fix the problem. For one brake problem, I took my car back to him three times, and he still couldn't fix it. I think Mr. Clark does better with old cars and that my problems with him started when I bought a newer model. So if you have a wreck, you might want to take a chance. Otherwise, stay away.
