City Bar

I kinda like this place... their homade rasberry vodka is absolutley to die for. Staff is really nice... the manager was a nice guy, and the owner let us try some of their homemade vodkas which were awesome... but the crowd is almost a little too mellow.... they could use little more liveliness Pros: Great Homemade Rasberry Vodka!!! Nice Staff... cool interior Cons: I don't think many people would survive a fire emergency more

I like city bar. Its a good place to go if State Street Brats and Mondays have long lines. Staff is great and they have a huge drink list. Definitely worth checking out. Try the food, the fried olives were really good Pros: Pretty Good Food and Nice Staff Cons: Nothing too out of the ordinary more

I love going to new places, especially if they are hard to find!! My girlfriends and I came back to Madison for a weekend to party and happened to stumble down the stairs into the City Bar. From the outside all you see is a door, but once inside its not what you would expect. Leather couches, big comfy booths, plasma screen tvs everywhere with a bar that changes color. I ordered a martini from their HUGE list and my girlfriend ordered a jack & coke which she was happy to have in a real glass since we had been drinking out of plastic all night at other bars. Drinks were good, jutebox was great and the crowd was beautiful, fun. You could feel the energy in the air- or maybe it was those deadly strawberry drop shots & the hot guy I met that night!!! Pros: Good service, atmoshere, Strawberry shots Cons: Line to get in more

Unique bar that's a good time as long as the frat's haven't overpopulated themselves, which happens too often. Head there in the summer when most of them have gone back east. Large drink menu and recent (last few years) facelift make it a cool spot to stop in for a few. Check out the light bar that changes color. Pros: Unique Bar, Drink Menu, Good cocktail tubs Cons: Annoying college kids, Frat crowd, small-gets crowded more
