I love this place, I grew up and live in the neighborhood. I went here in my first date. They have the best tasting food that only East L.A. /Boyle Height can bring you. The Rolled Tacos are especially delicious. Pros: Rolled Taco Plate. Great Value Cons: None! more

Best homestyle Mexican food 6/3/2005

If you're going for ambience, don't bother. Colorful ponchos hang everywhich way, tables are ricketty, and random music plays from the juke box. BUt the homestyle food is phenomenal. Everyone I've been loves the food, from garlic shrimp, menudo, cocido, flautas, to the avocado salsa. No one has ever complained. If youre looking for good food at a good price Ciro's is the place. Pros: Food, Value Cons: Parking more

There's Good, Great, Ciro's 2/16/2003

I've had some good Mexican food and some bad. Haven't we all. But rarely have I had great. Ciro's is one of those rare spots that focuses on the food. Plain formica tables. cheap chairs. Who cares?!? The food is GREAT! The best Steak Picado I've ever had. Not the normal soupy stewed stuff like others, but grilled meat with peppers and onions even BETTER than Mom made. The machaca is a another super dish. Classic salsa with chunks of avacado. Everything is great. Don't Miss. Pros: Great Food, Service, Nice Menu Cons: Parking more

I Like El Tepeyac, but.... 9/13/2002

...I love Ciros! Ciros isn't as popular as El Tepeyac nor does it get the hype that Manuel's gets, however, real Mexican Food aficianados know that Ciro's is the real deal! This place has large portions, diverse Mexican menu, a great ambience, and really great tasting food. Everyone should try the flautas at least once, after all, that is what they are known for. I recommend this place for any person looking for great tasting Mexican food. more

Ciro's is the bomb! 8/21/2002

I've lived in Mexico for more than twenty years and when I go to L.A. and crave some home cooking, I know Ciro's is the place. Not only is the food authentic, but the atmosphere is friendly and family-like, just like the places I go to here in Mexico. That's because it's family-owned by Mexicans who know what good meal and service is all about. Ciro's is terrific, the food is delicious, the servings are huge, and the prices are small, what more could you ask for? more

Those who know, know 8/15/2002

Ciro's is not only an institution in Boyle Heights, it has been a family run business for nearly thirty years. The quality of food is top notch. The recipes are authentic northern style cuisine from Ciudad Juarez, Chih. and El Paso, Tx. The flautas are consistently rated the best in LA. But all I have to say is that those who know Mexican Food know that Ciro's is the best!! Their secret weapon is the Salsa de Aguacate. It isn't your everyday run of the mill guacamole, NO! This salsa is chunky, fresh, spicy, tasty, and inspiring. Different kinds of chiles, tomato, onion, and chunks of avocado. I cannot even begin to describe what the recipe entails because it is a secret and best of all every table gets a fresh little bowl of it with some chips...Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm!!! Pros: Popular, In the Heart of ELA, Family Vibe Cons: Busy (popular), closed mondays more

Caliente como penelope 8/12/2002

The serving per plate is well wrought the price. You will not leave Ciro's feeling hungry. The service leaves you breathe-less and the atmospher is like being in your grandmother for a family dinner. Pros: inexpensive, crowded, good food Cons: fair parking, crowded more

Better than Tepeyac by FAR! 7/26/2002

Great eats at this place! Service is quick and food is hot and tasty! Try the picadillo it is even better than the reknown flautas!! Worth the wait--down the street from Tepeyac and much better! more
