Chyn King Restaurant

I will keep this simple. I use to eat here at least once a week for years, until I got sick. I was not 100% is was from the food at china king and tried it again after 6 months. A few weeks later me and my wife got sick and had to visit the hospital. That is when I decided to never eat there again. I can't be the only one to get sick since the city shut them down a week later for vermin and many other problems. Great little neighborhood place. I love to eat in or have it delivered. Friendly place and the best brown rice. We love all the noodle dishes. Pros: quick Cons: not too much variety on the menu more

Our office recently decided to try their lunch specials.We were excited at the thought of a delicious, health concious, ""Chinese Gourmet"" nearby. Our delivery came fairly quick and the delivery person was very nice. Things quickly changed! Not only was our order wrong ( and if you have food allergies, you know how bad this is), they were not willing to even discuss fixing the problem. I was yelled at over the phone, they were trying to convince us that we were wrong about the order, and mocking us that they would give us a dollar for being wrong about what they sent. I tried to explain several times that we could not eat what they sent because of an allergy! It was ridiculous, the issue was not money, but quality of food and service! To add insult to injury, the remaining food was disgusting! I am a Concierge and would not recommend this restaurant! Pros: Thumbs down Cons: Thumbs down more

What an awful experience, time and time again. The food is awful - the rice is a perfect example. If a Chinese restaurant can't serve fried rice, it is an indication of how everything else will taste. The food is covered with a thick, gooey layer of stale cooking oil. There is no spice or flavor. The Egg Drop soup tastes like watered down glue, literally. The Mongolian Beef looked boiled and had the texture of something you would microwave from frozen. The Egg Rolls and Won Tons were greasy and tasteless. And to top it all off, they got our order wrong - putting peanuts in the dish of someone who explained carefully they had a peanut allergy, and putting chicken instead of shrimp in the King Pao of a non meat eater. This has happened more than once I have ordered delivery from this place. I'd stay away. There are dozens of better Chinese Restaurants in the area. Cons: Bad food, lousy service more

The Spicy Garlic Beef is by far the best item. We also love the potstickers but the lo mein leaves something to be desired. We go all the time (so lucky to live close!) and ALWAYS get at least 1 order of spicy garlic beef! Pros: quiet/romantic, parking, good service more

Chyn King is one of those places that are sort of hidden away and not very noticeable. It's usually quiet and has a parking lot in the back. However, if you are ever adventurous enough to drop by and try it out, you'll find that you have found a jem in the city. Excellent customer service and fast delivery - as well as accomodating to prepare you the dish you want if you ever want to substitute different kind of tofu or veggies. They also have a selection of health-conscious dishes which uses very very little oil and offers 3 different types of sauces for you to choose from. chyn king is the kind of place where you drive or walk by a few times with suspicion. it's on a block with nothing much around it and there's usually not many people in there. i tried chyn king one night b/c it's only a few blocks away from my apt. (miracle mile) and they delivered. i wasn't expecting much but then i was in for a surprise. everything i ordered that night was terrific. the food is not too greasy and the ingredients are always fresh. they even have a healthy menu option and one of the few chinese restaurant that offers different oil options. they're also very prompt and courteous in both service and delivery. i just ordered the sesame beef and paper wrapped chicken for dinner and it was delicious! I feel so lucky to have this place within walking distance of my apartment. The lunch specials are a really great deal. The beef with black bean sauce is a MUST try! It is absolutely delicious. The hot and sour soup is great too. Pros: inexpensive, healthy cooking, good service more

This place was recently remodeled. It looks great! This isn't regular Chinese food. The food is prepared with healthy cooking oils. They will also use the oil of your choice on request. Be sure to check out the daily lunch specials. Pros: cheap, healthy, tasty more
