Editorial review from Citysearch 11/6/2013

I think the Austin Org should allow its members to stay in contact with their families. Read this - it's powerful.\r \r -----\r \r Dear Jessica and Jeremy,\r \r I have no way of reaching you directly, so I'm giving this a try. I'm asking all of my friends, family, and anyone else that gets this letter to please pass it on to each of you.\r \r Despite what you might have been told, I am doing well in all areas of my life. The only thing missing is the two of you. I am still the same mom who loves you both very much.\r \r But I want you to understand that I will never go back into the Church of Scientology. You have both asked me to talk to the International Justice Chief and get back in good standing with the church. I cannot agree to this. I am not a part of the church anymore and do not have to go by their rules. I am free now to think for myself and do what I think is best.\r \r I don't agree with the church's Disconnection Policy that you both are following, forcing you to stay away from me. Your grandmother and I will not disconnect from you, and we will continue to love you.\r \r I really want you both to think long and hard about this disconnection that is keeping you away from us. Do you both really never want to see me and your grandmother again? Do you never want to see the rest of the family because your grandmother and I won't go back into the church?\r \r If you both want to stay in Scientology we respect that, but at the same time you need to respect that we don't want to be a part of it anymore. If I were in your shoes I would never agree to this disconnection. I would tell the church that I would remain a part of my family's life. I would never allow the church to force me to disconnect from the people I love.\r \r Your grandfather is 75, your grandmother is turning 75, and I am turning 50. Time is going by fast and we should all enjoy many more good times together.\r \r You both know the reasons why I resigned from the church. It was mainly because of the way you were heavily recruited to be on staff or in the Sea Org at only 15 years old. I wanted you both to stay in school and get a full education. I fought with the church because my parental rights were being violated. I also saw what you both went through while being recruited and what you both went through while being in the Sea Org. I wrote everything that happened in A Mother's Heartbreak which it would be good if you both read so you can really see what happened.\r \r Forever loving you both,\r Your Mom more

Friendly Helpful People 4/4/2011

I found very friendly and helpful people here with no intention to enforce anything on me, just sincere personal interest in what I wanted out of life. Attacks are way out of date and sensationalist at any rate - not accurate. Critics are the ones trying to make money, not this group! Peaceful, happy and productive - that describes this place and its people. The frenzy is all on the other side. more

Scientology is a dangerous cult. 2/20/2008

""Since 1986 authorities in France, Spain and Italy have raided more than 50 Scientology centers. Pending charges against more than 100 of its overseas church members include fraud, extortion, capital flight, coercion, illegally practicing medicine and taking advantage of mentally incapacitated people."" \r - Time Magazine, May 6, 1991\r \r What Judges Say About Scientology \r ""Scientology is evil"" ... ""socially harmful"" ... ""both immoral and socially obnoxious"" ... ""practices that are dangerous and harmful"" ... ""caused real harm"" ... ""replete with false medical and scientific claims devoid of any religious overlay or reference."" \r \r Is Scientology breaking the law? \r There's evidence that Scientology has a pattern of breaking the law in accordance with official Scientology policy. \r \r Contact Your Attorney General \r The Attorney General is responsible for enforcing the law in most states. The Attorney General's office often takes on fraud and large criminal prosecutions. You may also want to contact your District Attorney - the local version of the Attorney General. Feel free to use this sample letter, asking for an investigation - or better yet, write one of your own. \r \r FACTNet's archive on Scientology crimes \r An extensive resource on Scientology's fraud and criminality. \r \r SCIENTOLOGY/L. RON HUBBARD GOVERNMENTAL OFFENSE TIMELINE \r A list of actual government offenses by Scientology and Scientology officials.\r Pros: Scientology is not a religion. Cons: Scientology is a dangerous cult. more

Google it before you go - Co$ wants your money 2/6/2008

Although the beliefs epsoused by many members may seem laughable, teh Chuch of Scientology is no joke. it is ultimately a pay-to-pray organization that is extremely difficult to extricate oneself from. Members pay great deals of money to audit classes which are geared towards brainwashing them for multiple lifetimes of servitude. Critics are silenced with mob-style tactics, and frvolous lawsuits. People who are vulnerable and desperatre are targeted for membership, and things that could help them (therapy, medications, support from people outside the organization) are demonized.\r \r Do your research, tell your friends and family, stay away, and treat current members with care and concern. They need your help to break loose. Information is free. Scientology is not. more
