If you like to shop in small, mom-and-pop type shops, Chung May is a good place to visit. They are right in the heart of Chinatown, and are within walking distance of many restaurants. (Sometimes, I come and shop here while waiting for a table at the nearby Ocean Harbor restaurant.) The prices here are on the high side, but the location is stellar and the merchandise is fresh. I especially love their Asian vegetables! (They have all the leafy greens you can order at restaurants.) But, I wouldn't do all my grocery shopping here. They don't really stock everything most fridges and pantries need, and the selection of American products is limited and high-priced. Try shopping at the Kmart inside the gallery for that sort of stuff. Otherwise, this is a nice little shop that I enjoy patronizing.
