Choga Korean Restaurant

Worse customer service ever. Went there to eat and had terrible customer service. Only brought out 2 glasses of water for 4 of us. Never ask us if we wanted additional glasses for our 2 kids. They ended up drinking out of ours. After bringing us our food she never ask us if we wanted anything else. She brought us our check in the middle of us eating. She started clearing our table when we weren't finish eating. Feel like she wanted us out. We left her 15%(even though the service is bad) tip base on the before tax amount. My wife took one of the kids to the restroom, the waitress came to me and said ""you should tip at least 15%. You so cheap."" I should ask for the ticket back and wrote zero, but I was shock that she would said something ""BS"" like this even though she received 15%. I told my wife what happen in the car. My wife called to complain to the manager but she answer the phone and said she was the manager. My wife asked for her name and she said ""Jenny"". She is a middle aged lady who speak very heavy accent. Beware of her if you go there. more

My family of 4 adults and 1 baby went there once and we won't go there anymore. First we are not Koreans, but love Korean food. We ordered four entrees that day. They first started the side dishes. I understand what side dish means, but the amount was way too small, equals to one small bite of each person only. The waitress who never smiled during the whole time we were there, served four pieces of egg rolls for four of us, which was one piece for one person. We didn't feel wrong until we saw the other table. There was a Korean lady at that table - the waitress cheerfully talked with her in Korean. That lady was by herself. She ordered one entree, however the side dish she was given was much more than four of us. For the egg rolls, she herself was given three pieces. This kind of situation doesn't make me feel comfortable. The way the restaurant judge its customers and then provide different service is not ""nice"" - to say it in the kindest way. That was my true experience. I hope if any of you go there won't be treated this way. more

I love korean food. My friend took me here last year and I had an awesome time. They gave you a bunch of side dishes and I was kinda full eating them before our main our came out. I had bbq ribs and it was yummy! The price was expensive here though. I would say the service is not all great but the food is definitely something you want to try on. Maybe I'll come back here again next time. It is authentic food but I wish the waiters can come to you quicker when you ring the bell =] Pros: nice environment Cons: slow waiter more

This is a very authentic Korean Restaurant, so for those expecting to get treated like Johnson County royalty, they need to get over themselves. Bulgogi, Jaeyuk Boggum, Kim-Chi are all excellent as well as the other fare. I have a group of 12 from work that goes and eats there, with usually 7-8 in attendence at one time. Their lunch box specials are just the right amount for a great price. You walk out feeling mildly full but your taste buds have been given so many treats. I found this place via internet and took my mom there (she's from Seoul). They gave us directions via phone. The food was great! Pros: Clean nice and open, great food Cons: won't see the restaurant from mapquest directions, on the back side of the building when using Mapquest more

\r Choga's located at 103rd and Metcalf, look around and there's also another Korean resturant across the intersection named Rainbow( its more of a lunch place) and there's an Oriental SUPER market runned by Koreans.\r \r Choga though is a good evening place to go with friends and family, definetly not by yourself, since the service can be really neglectful at times. The service can be depressing but you just need to become very aggressive then. The food can be a bit greasy but overall we're thankful to have Choga here. more

The food tasted good, but the quantity served for the OUTRAGEOUS prices at lunch was a highway robbery! And the service was the worst I have ever experienced. The waiter served us only one kind of kimchee (the cheap cabbage kind) when we could see that he was serving varieties of kimchee at other tables with their meals. I asked the neighboring tables if they were paying more for the extra varieties of kimchee and they said that those came with the meals. I know korean food quite well because I had a couple of good korean friends and I know and like the different varieties of kimchee. I am a Bangladeshi American and I noticed the waiter's attitude towards us was clearly different from his attitude towards the white and korean patrons. I was a waiter while going to college so I know how a waiter could be frazzled when it gets busy, but this guy was just being a bigotted A**H****! As another reviewer wrote: It is not american. Not at all. Not stylish. Not friendly. BUT (and there's a big BUT): It is really korean. We were the onle western people in there and felt like being in Asia. The food was very tasty - even though we weren't quite sure about what we were really eating sometimes. Try the Korean BBQ! But do not BBQ yourself - someone will come to your table and do it in front of you and serve you. Have fun! more

This was my first time trying korean and I would have to say that I found the whole experience very interesting. There were many flavors that I was not familiar with but found to be fairly tasty. No matter what entree you order it is accompnied by the traditional korean sides, ranging from a cold omelte roll, to very spicy diakon radish root. I was living in Korea for 2 months. The food they serve is real Korean food that means, very spicy and none-Americanlized. In the night, they offer BBQ, you can BBQ in the restaurant right on your table, they call it Karbi. It's very good if you have a group of friend and love to be noisy and explore some new culture thing. Very declicious food. more
