This is a very busy place with ""interesting"" food---the quality of ingredients used is outstanding---one very irritating service gliche is meals for couples or trios are served ...

Great! 7/31/2009

I went to Clarissa when I was in my last trimester of pregnancy. She helped ease so many aches and pains. I was worried about going to acupuncture as I had never been before, but I felt so comfortable with Clarissa. She was incredibly knowledgeable and talked me through everything. I ended up seeing her multiple times through out my last trimester, and each and every time had a marvelous experience! more

Excellent Practicioner 7/29/2009

I have the utmost trust in Clarissa when it comes to my health and well-being. She is very smart, and also has a great bedside manner. I only wish I still lived close enough to continue to be treated by her! Wonderful wonderful... It was a joy to be treated by her during my pregnancies as well. She understands both prenatal changes, and natural childbirth firsthand, which really strengthened my trust in her. Thank you Clarissa! more

Nothing short of excellent! 7/29/2009

I've been seeing Clarissa for about 2 years now for a combination of bike accident rehabilitation, whole body health, and surgery recuperation. Clarissa is knowledgeable and personable--a fabulous practitioner! Scheduling is a breeze and she really knows her stuff. I highly recommend her to anyone interested in finding a high quality acupuncturist/chinese herbalist. more

Quality Care outside the Box 2/14/2009

I have gone to Clarissa both as a patient and mother of a patient and have been exceedingly happy with her treatment. She takes the time to listen and work with you to find the right treatment. Clarissa is also very personable and has a wonderful bedside manner. She doesn't just treat your ailment, she explains the concepts behind the medicine. It is both helpful and educational. I trust her with the health of me and my children and know I can rely upon her. more

Herb Expert 2/12/2009

I went to Clarissa after the birth of my son left me feeling exhausted, she gave me a great herbal formula that brought me back to life. She really knows women's issues, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum. She billed my insurance which was a plus. I look forward to my monthly visits which revitalize me. Thank you! more

It's Not Just Sushi! Fresh, fresh!! 5/20/2007

Everything tastes very fresh at Chinoise!! I don't like Sushi but my husband does, so we are happy to find a restaurant where he can order his sushi and I can get other dishes like a good basic Pad Thai. We like the small restaurant feel, the ability to eat outside on beautiful sunny days and our kids love the food (and the staff are nice when they serve the kids and don't make a fuss about the child seats that can take up a lot of room in their small restaurant). I would go here anytime when given the chance, as a sushi lover or not!! more

good food but spotty (sometimes snobby) service 10/21/2005

the title pretty much sums it up - they always have good food but the service is often just ok. i've run into very snotty hostesses and waitstaff there, and i'm *really* not into the 'our restaurant is so pretentious that we can treat the customers badly' scene. i stick to take-out when i want food from chinoise. i think their sushi is ok, but i've had much better. once or twice it was on the chewy side, and i don't like every piece of sushi adorned with scallions. good cali rolls, and they have good lunch specials. their mu shu is great! heaping mounds of fresh veggies with your chioce of meat, and very tasty. more

Pretty decent Pan Asian fare 10/16/2005

My wife wanted to try Chinoise so we trekked up to the Queen Anne location after finding the International District restaurant gone. We arrived shortly after they opened for dinner at 5 PM. We were quickly greeted and seated. Initially walking into the restaurant, I was not quite sure what kind of restaurant Chinoise was except that it served Asian food. Looking over the menu, it became pretty clear Chinoise served a cross section of popular Asian food from several Asian countries. There were Chinese, Korean, Thai, Japanese, and Vietnamese menu items that I recognized. I may have missed another country or two. My wife ordered the spring rolls and I ordered one of the sushi combo plates as an appetizer. The spring rolls were decent - crisp on the outside and a good filling in the inside but could have been a bit warmer temperature wise. The sushi was pretty good - tasted very fresh. The miso that came with my sushi was ok - a little too strong with the bean paste. As an entrée my wife ordered the Mongolian Beef and I ordered one of the Chef's special dishes, Ha Noodles I think was the name. While the Mongolian Beef was decent and was pretty traditional from any other Chinese restaurant, the Ha Noodles were hard to figure out. While my wife loved the Ha Noodles, I found it pretty bland. The flavors in this noodle dish was hard to find and lacking anything distinct. I should have gone with the Pad Thai. I would go back and try their other dishes. The service was friendly enough and I think the food definitely has potential. If nothing else, their sushi is pretty decent. more

Fusion Fare 8/17/2005

This was my first introduction to Sushi and I'm addicted. The pot stickers are by far my favorite and I can't find a spider roll anywhere else that compares. It's casual dining but locals know how great the food is so it does get crowded. Service is slow and not too friendly but when you taste their food, it really doesn't matter. Everything I have ever eaten there has been delicious. There is something for everyone, even if you don't like sushi. more
