Waste of money! 12/8/2008

We've tried this restaurant before and have had both good and bad experiences, never a delivery time issue, just quality. The first time it was delicious. The second time, not so good. Last night? Horrible! The lo mein tasted like it been cooked a few days ago and lacked flavor. It was dry as dry gets and it literally went in the garbage disposal. So did the crab rangoon. We called to let them know, they kept tossing the phone back and forth and finally spoke to a man who didn't seem to care we weren't happy with our food. We had ice cream for dinner last night and vowed that we would never eat here ever again! Don't waste your time or money. Try Pei Wei in Brier Creek, awesome food that's not expensive. Pros: Big portions Cons: Awful food! more

Good Food on a Weeknight 3/20/2008

This place is located at 8111 Creedmoor Rd, Suite 117. After reading all of the reviews, I decided to try anyway. The person who answered the phone was nice, the delivery guy was early, which was good, and the food was hot and good. I ordered crab rangoon, broccoli in garlic sauce, and 2 spring rolls. It's best to order for delivery on a weeknight, when it's not busy. If you want this on the weekends, I would go in for pick up. It's just like Fast Food. You know they will be much friendlier and not forget anything, if you go in when it's not busy and if they are not about to close. Stick to what you know. One minor thing they could improve is hire someone to answer the phone, who everyone can understand, as well as someone who understands what the other is saying over the phone. It was a tad bit annoying having to repeat myself every 5 seconds for a simple order and address. Pros: Simple dishes, fast delivery on weeknight Cons: Couldn't understand woman on the phone, and she couldn't understand me more

Wonderful takeout at great prices! 12/10/2007

China Court recently moved from its location by Kroger to the shopping area one block over, but its food is just as excellent as ever. Their interior is lovely if you want to dine in, but I am usually a takeout customer--I especially love the ginger chicken with string beans. They're friendly, fast, and the food is SO much higher-quality than any other local Chinese delivery places. High marks from a long-time customer!!! Pros: Good location for N. Raleighers, GREAT value for delicious food Cons: Can't think of any more

Terrible food. Poor customer service. 11/19/2007

The wife and I were too tired on a recent Friday night to cook or go out, so we ordered delivery from China Court. The food took forever to arrive, over 45 minutes, and when it did it left a lot to be desired. The wife ordered Peking Shrimp; the shrimp looked huge but when my wife took a bite it was all batter. There was a tiny little shrimp in the very center of all that batter, and what's more, the shrimp had not been deveined so when you did get a bite of shrimp there was that wonderful gritty crunch of whatever the shrimp had been eating. The wife called the restaurant to complain and try to get something else and the hostess that answered the phone was rude to her. The hostess said she was not the cook, complain to the cook and hung up the phone. Needless to say we will not order from China Court again. more

If you have low expectations, this is your place. 6/9/2006

I ordered take-out from China Court and was told food would be ready in 20 minutes. I live close by, so I jumped into the car after ordering and arrived at China Court in about 8 minutes. Of course, my food was on the counter waiting for me. Don't wait 20 minutes. In fact, if you go, drive to China Court and order from your cell phone. Go inside and see how long your food takes to be prepared.\r \r Okay, now to my review of the food. The Szechuan Chicken had a good flavor, although there was a noticeable absence of vegetables; it was all chicken and a lot of sauce. The low mein was the hightlight; it was as good as you will find anywhere. The big disappointment was in the fried rice. It was white rice with soy sauce and microscopic flecks of egg. Overall, it was average food for the price. more

Delicious 3/25/2006

As soon as I walk into the restaurant I had instant service. The hostess were beautifully dressed, well mannered, and very polite. The waitress were up and running and got me everything that I asked for. The manager was friendly and came out to see if everything was okay. Amazing food, I got a lot of food for an amazing price. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a fine sit down Chinese restaurant. Pros: Inexpensive, Great service, Delicious food Cons: parking more

Large amount of food, just not tasty 1/28/2006

The prices are reasonable, for Chinese food, but the quality of the food was poor. It just didn't taste good. I had kung pao chicken, it tasted like cinnimon, and was not spicy. Also had szechuan chicken, was not spicy, tasted like sweet bbq sauce. Fried rice was white rice with egg, not very authentic. Pros: reasonable price Cons: not good, no delivery over 2 mi more

Has it all at fantastic prices 6/1/2005

The food here is delicious- the wait staff is in dress shirts. Linen tablecloths and napkins. Classical music in the background. The food is amazing- everything from Peking Duck to LoMein. This place has got to be the best kept secret in N. Raleigh. I've never had a wait to get a table. I think they do a brisk takeout business as well. They also have a back room for large parties. Some examples of prices: Lunches with soup: $4.75 to $6.25. Dinners (with soup) are $9-17 for a platter of food. If you want to really know if a restuarant is raking you over on price- check out how much they charge for soda. China Court: $0.80. Pros: Delicious food, Price, Service Cons: Hidden location more
