Hours of fun for kids and adults alike 10/11/2006

On Monday a friend of mine, her son and my son went to the Children's Museum at Navy Pier. We had a blast! I haven't been there is a couple of years and I forgot how fun it could be. So did my son! The nice thing about the museum is even though many exhibits stay the same, many do change. This time they are featuring Alice In Wonderland complete with a visit from Alice herself! But the boys favorite part was the Waterways exhibit. There you can create a real waterway and build dams to show the different ways water will flow. Then you put a plastic boat at the top and watch it go! They also have a pipe system in this part with water flowing through the tubes and the kids can connect different tubes to run the water. All kids are supplied raincoats and believe me they need them! Another neat exhibit was the dinosaur place. There kids can become archaeologists and unearth dinosaur bones. They have plenty of attractions for the little ones too. Almost every exhibit has a baby section where the younger kids can play too. There are many other exhibits, but I don't want to ruin them for you. It was not very expensive, $8 a person and well worth it! Especially since we got over 3 hours of uninterrupted fun for the boys! more

A fun museum for kids 5/17/2006

This is probably the best attraction for children on Navy Pier. It is located on the top floor of the of the food court and shopping area. It is actually not too big, but there is so much for children to do here. They have lots of great exhibits that are not only interactive, but ones the children can touch and play with. The kids always enjoy a trip to this museum and it makes for a good passtime for them because not only is it fun, but they are learning at the same time! more

Chicago Children's Museum 5/4/2006

Located at Navy Pier, this Children's museum is a great way to distract the kids after or before a day of shopping! The museum features hands on exhibits, so the kids are encouraged to touch and play to their hearts content. They don't even realize that they are learning because they are having so much fun. Our favorite is the water play area, where the kids can splash all they want! more

good times 4/8/2006

Great museum for children to play with hands-on materials. Provides many experiences for growth and exploration. More importantly, it provides an outlet for kids to have good, clean fun! My favorite is playing with water. Who doesn't love splashing and playing with the gadgets. It's located on Navy Pier, so public transporation might be your best bet. Also, check out the website for free family nights. more

The Children's Museum is located in Navy Pier and is a nice place to take the kids. It has nice little exhibits for your little ones to look, touch and play. I especially like the computer room where the "older" kids and use the computer to challenge their mind on simple computer games. more

Great for kids of all ages 8/2/2005

Like many other children's museums this is tons of fun with an educational twist. My husband and I were there with our toddler. We honestly didn't think they'd have things for a child his age but we were proven wrong. Many exhibits were gaged towards someone his age. He had fun in a mock forest camp out with foam rocks and a little waterfall he could put his hands in and get them wet. There was even a foam pond for crawling babies to explore. A great place for babies and adults and everyone in between. more

Fun Fun for the Kids 7/28/2005

I took some kids here once and they had a blast. There is so much to do. I even had a fun time. There are plenty of hands on and interactive activities. The kids can dress up, listen to stories, and run around. The staff is delightful and friendly. Feed your kids before going or plan accordingly because there are no restaurants in the museum. more

Children's museum 6/30/2005

The Children's Museum is an awesome surprise. My friend offered us free passes as we had never been before so, we went. It is located upstairs at Navy Pier, and when we first entered the Navy Pier location, I began to fear that it wouldn't offer much as it appears to be located in a mall!! I was pleasantly surprised. There is soooo much to do and learn in the Children's Museum. The lines weren't too long and the other patrons were pleasant as we waited for some of the attractions and took turns. What a great place for children to learn about aviation, nature, gravity, water, and even archaeology. We had a wonderful day and will definately be back!! more
