We loved it 2/24/2011

My visit at Chianti was a success. I took 3 of my employees.\r All of them loved the food and the service. The bread was still hot, my cappellacci were very flavourfull (roasted squash ravioli), the chicken parmesan was tender and delicious, scaloppine piccatta one of the best (my employee told me)\r And the price????\r A complete bargain, the wine was extremely inexpensive.\r (a bottle of nice Chianti for $22).\r We loved it. more

Not as great as they all say! 6/16/2010

Went with hubby for a romantic dinner without the kids. We ate there last year and it was great, but something changed this time. The food was salty and the pasta was hard & dry. Sent it back followed by a another salty dish. Waiter understood the problem and should had not charged us, but did anyway. So felt money was wasted since such an expensive restaurant. Hope things improve! Pros: Good service Cons: Small restaurant, so gets loud & romance is gone! more

Great italian food 3/6/2010

This is a well kept secret in the DTC area. Amazing Italian food that tastes much better (and costs the same if not less) than at the ""fancier"" Italian places. Very small and cozy restaurant. But the food - stunning!\r The decor is a bit dated and cheesy - could stand remodeling and the staff uniforms could be nicer looking. However, the service is very friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and great tips regarding the food. Overall, highly recommend. Pros: Tasty food/cute location/convenient parking Cons: Decor more

Great Food at a Great Price 1/25/2009

Chianti is low key and you would never know it was there unless you were looking for it. I was turned onto Chianti during a cab ride when my driver told me he thought it was the best food in the city. Now that I've been, I understand what he's talking about. The food is better than other ""high-end"" Italian places, and there are many things on the menu for under 20 bucks. It feels like a bargain considering the quality of the product. Great wine list and very friendly staff (however they are easily overwhelmed during peak hours). I will be going back many many times. Pros: Great food at a very decent price Cons: The wait staff is small, and struggles durring peak hours. But it's worth it. more

Awesome small restaurant 4/1/2008

Outstanding service, authentic food.\r The service was a little slow, but Sheela was great anyway.\r My Carpaccio was one of the best. My wife loved the spinach salad. My Cioppino was outstanding.\r My wife had the scampi. she really liked it even if too al dente.\r We love everything about Chianti even the ceiling.\r Pros: Food and Service Cons: n/a more

Quality food and low prices 3/11/2008

We were a Chianti 2 times in February.\r The food is THE BEST in the DTC area.\r The first time we had average service, the second time we had great service.\r The food was outstanding both time.\r We loved the chicken San Gimignano, ravioli norma, the salads were also great.\r I think the best dish was the cappellaci and the veal limone.\r The tiramisu was the best I have ever had.\r Sheela was great. Pros: Quality food, low prices, good service Cons: n/a more

Terrible service and very unorganized 1/6/2008

Worst service we have ever experienced. I made reservations at Chianti for a special New Year's Eve Celebration with my significant other. When we got to the restaurant we were told they had lost our reservation and the next table would not be available until 9 p.m. I put my name in for 9 p.m. and gave them my cell phone number to call in case a table became available sooner. My girlfriend and I went to a local bar for drinks to wait. At 9 p.m. I got a call and they said they were not going to be able to accomodate us at all. Chianti ruined our New Year's Eve celebration first by losing our reservation and then went back on their word and wasted our time from 7:30 to 9 during which we could have been searching for another restaurant to eat at. Zero out of 5 stars for Chianti's lack of professionalism!!! Cons: Terrible service and very unorganized more

Small and cozy 11/22/2007

Small and cozy.\r Great food, different menu.\r Chicken San Gimignano, Panzanella and Cozze Fradiavolo.\r Great and huge Lamb ossobuco with fettuccine\r Affordable price and wines.\r Very tuscan. Pros: small and cozy, I love the different food Cons: Waiting when busy and not have a reservation more

Great Italian Food! 10/6/2007

I love Italian food and this restaurant knows how to kick their culinary wizardry into high gear night after night. Excellent food, great customer service, and a terrific menu. - Greg Wertsch, owner of The Clandestine Chef Experience, Denver, Colorado Pros: Great Food Cons: The curb appeal is low - but what a treat inside! more

Fabulous Italian Dishes, Great Wine, Wonderful Service 5/31/2007

Last Friday night we met another couple for dinner here.\r We started with a great bottle of wine and some excellent calamari!\r We really enjoyed the batter and the sauce to dip it in!\r Next were some really excellent salads! Hubby and I went with the Chianti salad ? excellent! \r Finally it was time for another bottle of wine and the main course!\r Zenato, Ripassa Valpolicella Speriore 2003\r I went with the Shrimp Ravioli and Lobster Sauce! Sooo yummy!\r Hubby went with the spicy sausage pasta ? yummy but needed bigger sausage pieces.\r Desert we can?t remember ? but I?m pretty sure is was super yummy!\r It was a little hot and crowded, but the food and service was fabulous!\r We were allowed to sit and chat from 7-10 without be rushed, that was a really nice thing!\r Pros: Fabulous Food, Great Wine, Wonderful Serivce, Cons: Crowded, Warm, Need Reservation more

Best Authentic Tuscan Restaurant in United States 3/23/2007

I was there last saturday night.\r Working for Wine Spectator I had been travelling all over the word.\r I will tell you that this was the best dinner ever.\r Reading the menu, I tought the chef was from Tuscany, but I did find out he was from Sicily.\r I must say the food was amazing, original, authenthic and full of Tuscan flavors.\r The wine list showcased some hand picked wines from the Tuscan region.\r I was lucky I had a reservation. The concierge at the Hyatt was reving about this small restaurant. \r Try the Vitello San Gimignano, it was divine.\r The tiramisu was to die for.\r Alessandro was very friendly.\r Thank you again.\r Pros: Best Tuscan restaurant in United States. Cons: This restaurant should have a bigger space. more
