Whenever heading out for a night on the town, my friends and I always meet at Cheers first. It puts us in a bar hopping mood and we always end up back there!!

Rude Bartender 10/7/2010

I wandered into this place because of its name implies. FRIENDS. As soon as I got in I ordered from a male bartender whom I had just seen down the street at a pizza joint hustling and conning a free pizza slice, because he worked as a bartender at Cheers. I think he finally got his free slice. When I was done eating I came into Cheers and recognized the bartender immediately but now there was no salesman smile as when he was conning the pizza man. Now he was curt, arrogant and rude. We ordered the $2.00 shots and a beer. Through some strange math the bill came out to be $13.00. I paid it but at that moment decided that this would be the last time I would patronize this establishment. Of course I left no tip, now I think that I should have left a tip (on a napkin) : Don't be RUDE! Mo Fo.... more

Bad Drinks, Rude Bartenders, & Lying Manager! 12/31/2008

Avg 6th street bar minus any class, good drinks or helpful employees. Went last night for NYE... it looked like the least exciting place to go, but it was cheap... so, we went. Crowd was mixed & friendly... Bartenders were slow even though the bar was not crowded. Bartender Dave could not make a good drink to save his life, so we moved to the girl bartender on the upstairs patio (She could make good drink). The bar thinned out after 12 midnight came... So, the want to leave began, yet my friends thought we should stick it out. Everything was about avg until about 1:30 rolled around... the bouncers & bartenders got a little rowdy & started putting their hands on people & forcing them out. My friend was cornered by a few guys asking him to go, he told them he had to get me (his ride) before he could go. At this point Dave the bartender screams "Get that C*ck S*cker Out of Here!" I immediately looked up... saw what was going on & headed to the manager Mike, I expressed what was going on & with great condescension he said "Dave would not say that, you're making sh*t up" They would not give me a card to the bar so I could talk with the owner & told me they had no cards or even a phone number (as you see was a blatant lie cause its on this page). So, after spending hundreds of dollars my friends were kicked out for being "C*ck S*ckers"... We will not be going to this establishment again & will advise anyone else not to go. There are too many bars better than this where you won't get discriminated against for you sexuality. Pros: cheap Cons: The Rude Employees more

  • Cheers is a great place to start off your night downtown. They pack three bars into this small place, each fully stocked with liquor, mixers and sweaty bartenders. They'll give good suggestions if you ask for one, but beware the prices. If you ask for a good sour, strong, sweet or whatever shot it would be a good idea to say how much you're willing to spend. Kick back a shot or two, then head out for some dancing, music, or more spacious bars in the area.
