Chateau Lamothe Comment to Timmyd89 12/16/2009

Mr. Doherty arrived discontented because the table he had was inadequate. We made a Saturday reservation for him at 6:45 when he called us at 5:23. We gave him the last available table, unfortunately when a late reservation is made we may not be able to accommodate if they are all full & reserved. Pros: ambiance, great food, wine, friendly atmosphere, small plate more

Not worth the money 11/29/2009

Mediocre to bad food quality. Not worth the price. I ordered the teryaki salmon. It was extremely dry, small, and not particularly fresh. My mouth hurt all night after eating it. The salads were $6.00 each and were not what was promised. I ordered the gorgonzola salad Light on the dressing, very short on the gorgonzola, small, and oddly served in a large wine glass. First glass of Bordeaux was flat. Sent it back for a different Bordeaux. Somewhat better, but not worth $10.50. Their name implies french cooking, but it doesn't resemble french cuisine in any way. Staff is trained at DCTC, which is fine, but don't charge $99.00 for a meal of this poor quality. Server rushed us throughout the night, so we skipped the desert. Spent $99.00 for the wife and I. Definitely not worth the price. Pros: Good music Cons: Many more

Best Wine bar South of the River! 3/19/2007

I recently visited the Chateau Lamothe with my girlfriend, and her Mom. Dave, the friendly bartender is also one of the owners, and quite possibly, one of the most knowledgeable sommeliers I have ever met. He and his wife Doris have been running this hidden Gem for about 2 years now. Doris designed the menu, and I must say the Thai Peanut Chicken was delicious. My girlfriend had one of the Pizzas, which I think they make from scratch. Delicious! Her mom had the Beef Burgionese (spelling?), wonderfully comforting, with a gourmet touch. Dave recommended some great wine pairings, and we loved all of them. Overall, I would say this is a great place for a romantic night out, or just to relax, listen to the Piano, and enjoy a glass of wine, and a delicious meal. Make sure tocheck out the Chandelier in Marcell's Bar. It is quite possibly one of the coolest personalized restaurant memorabilia ever! Pros: Parking, Food, Atmosphere Cons: Small Bar more
