Treat yourself to a full memu consisting of sucslent: BBQ beef, pork and chicken, fried chicken and fish, smothered pork chops, roast turkey wings and,cornish hens, fall off the bone oxtails and pigfeet. Superbly seasoned vegetables like cabbage, string beans, lima beans, black-eye peas, collard greens, potato salad, mac & cheese, steamed rice, and a mixture of corn, okra & tomatoes. WOW!! Not only the ribs with Charlie's signature homemade sauce, but everything on the menu wil make your tastebuds throw a party for yor mothh. Now, the place is not fancy, but the friendly, downhome atmosphere more than makes up for that. The prices aren't bad either, in fact compared to other soul food spots, you actually receive a great bargain, because you get both QUALITY and QUANTITY. RIGHT ON!! RIGHT ON!!! Well let me tell you about my experience @ Charlies Country Ribs. Wooooo Woo there food is so great. The macaroni and cheese melts in your mouth, the yams make you sing "" Mmmm Mmmm NaNaNa"". The specialty of all is the BBQ Ribs and the special sauce Mr.Charlie really puts his foot down. The ribs fall right off the bones.Oh and lets talk about the breakfast, they all the good down south meats like City Dress, Fat back,and some Country Ham. Makes me feel like I'am back down home. Everytime I visit over there I feel just like I am family. Before I finish my review let me tell you, you can't leave out of there without a smile, sweet potato pie and a homemade lemonade. I love you Charlie's Country Ribs!!!!!! more

Best Soulfood 1/20/2007

Charlie's is the best place for soul food, the food taste like my mom's. It's not the cheapest, however the quality is excellent. You can tell they take pride in cooking the food. more

One of the best soul food restaurants in Philly 7/18/2005

charlie's food is great, especially the mac & cheese. however i've noticed recently that the prices have gone up and the portions have gone down. the restaurant also needs some renovations - make it brighter and friendlier. more
